What?

Macron's wife was his teacher and had a relationship with him when he was 15...she was 40.

Brigitte first met the future French president when he was 15 years old and she was a 40-year-old married mother-of-three.

“He wasn’t like the others,” Brigitte told a French documentary last year. "He wasn’t a teenager. He had a relationship of equals with other adults.”

Macron's wife was a pedophile.

Are you talking about his wife?

Also, France.

Yes.

Funny to see the Left here and there celebrating the victory of a known and very public pedo because they aren't conservative. Viva la France.

I haven't exactly seen much of anything that suggests that they actually consumated their relationship while still student and teacher. It seems like they started their relationship when he was 17.

Also, not sure why you are attacking Macron and not his wife. Who wasn't on the ballot. (Boy, that seems familar)

She didn't win. Her husband did. He's not a pedophile.

Oh ok...so if Melania Trump was a neo-Nazi...she wasn't on the ballot. Got it.

Wasn't aware of that news item, but like others are saying.... Macron was voted in, not his wife. The Trump/Putin plot failed abysmally in France, that must piss off the Cult of Trump no end...

What a great defense. I'm sure you're right. They both knew better right?...said every pedophile's defense attorney.

It's disgusting to see the Left here and the French people let this one slide...to beat a right winger? Bravo France!

At the end of the day, the wives aren't the ones running. Melania is a gold-digging moron by the looks of it, but that's not the issue with Trump. Trump is the issue with Trump.

If every political candidate would be disqualified because of the shady character of their family members, there would be no government.

Also, maybe a French Hypester can confirm this, but it seems like France doesn't have the same ideas about teenage/adult relationships that North America does. It may be a European thing, but the stories I've read about their relationship from European newspapers never mention the word pedophile. They all make fun of the age difference, but it doesn't sound like anyone is too scandalized by the beginnings of their relationship. I know in Germany, the age of consent is 14. A case went to court regarding a 14 year old and her relationship with her 47 year old uncle by marriage (not blood related, in other words). The courts ruled that the 14 year old was mature enough to make her own decisions. They have different rules over there. So the relationship between a 15 year old (the age of consent in France) and a woman in her 30s is none of anyone's business, as far as the law goes.

To be fair to Europe, America is incredibly close minded when it comes to sex in any fashion. If it isn't the most bland boring thing then you must hide it away or else the children will turn into monsters. :whatever:

I've seen a number of times where other countries in Europe and Asia had large age gaps of 20 to 30 years and little was said beyond, "Good for them."

France, huh?!

So all they revealed is that he and his future wife to be met when he was 15 and she was older?
Yes I'm not seeing how that would tarnish his reputation!

Anyway anyone paying attention to the latest election news?

As in did Corbyn steal the thunder of one of his successful Labour MPs by turning up to his victory celebration and the MP didn't?

It's disgusting to see the Left here and the French people let this one slide...to beat a right winger racist, xenophobic, extremist, alt-right/pseudo Nazi demagogue? Bravo France!

Fixed. And yup, Bravo indeed. This hypocrisy outrage schtick you do has jumped the shark bigly.

The age thing differs from country to country, the only issue I would see is the level of maturity of somebody insanely younger with somebody insanely older. Sometimes they work, sometimes it gets ****ed up.

I have no idea whether in other countries in Europe there is a different attitude towards age difference and when one party is clearly a minor. I know though that it is the case in some countries like India or Pakistan or other similar Asian countries like that.

Once a guest speaker was doing a presentation on Indian weddings either in Hinduism or Islam - I forget which one. Anyway, the presenter showed a slide of a girl who was clearly only about 12 or so and an adult male. The presenter asked "does anyone know what this ceremony is?" The lecture group had trouble guessing. So the presenter helped them out and said "it's a wedding." Then she asked another question: "does anyone know what kind of a wedding this is?" to which someone in the audience shouted out "a pedophile wedding?"

While everyone laughed, the presenter got really offended, and apparently the person who shouted that out got in trouble and later had to issue an apology for his "faux pas".

Anyway, Macron apparently had a crush on his school teacher. I think she might possibly have been married with children at the time, but that didn't stop him or his feelings.

Glad to see you rallying for pedophilia....because 'Europe'. Liberals - supporting teachers having sexual relationships with adult 15 year olds since 2017.

Legal age of consent in France is 15. So it's not pedophilia.

I'm not rallying for it. France had two choices here. Their Putin-puppet version of Trump, or a moderate with a much older wife that was his teacher. I'm going to even get into my opinion on his marriage, but you've got to be kidding me if you think it's impossible to hold those two thoughts as two separate issues. Bill Clinton was a pig, straight up. That doesn't entirely color how I view his presidency however.

You're gonna tell me I'm not allowed to be relieved France didn't fall for the same trap we did without "rallying for pedophilia"? LOL

Why do we try to split ourselves on left or right.

We all have views that are on both sides of the spectrum.

I think we all agree there should be a justice system and a police force to keep us safe. That is a socialist ideal.

We all agree that hard work, talent and injenuity should be rewarded. That is a capitalist ideal.

We need balance. Reward the best of us, protect and take care of the weakest and deter those that wish to destroy or cause harm.

People feel failed failed by the political center so are pushing for the extremes at either end of the spectrum.

Rational and considered approach isn't popular among certain sections of the population.

Most people only like free market capitalism when they are on the winning end of it.

Most people also don't respect how much regulatory organizations and legislation are necessary to protect actual free market capitalism. Most countries and people that extoll the virtues of "free market capitalism" don't understand that most western nations have a massive issue with crony capitalism and a conflation between the government and large corporates.

There is only equal market participation and a lack of barriers to entry when non governmental organizations and strong policy stops big business from freezing everyone else out of the market. I'm not sure what the context is in England but if they have a similar lobbying dynamic as the States then they definitely don't have a genuinely free market.

If there isn't any oversight with regard to companies they'll just run amok.

Apologies for thread necromancy...

So we have the EU apparently insisting to be fair so want the money before discussing trade arrangements!
Then the EU Negotiator declares he going to teach the UK about the cost of leaving...
Don't know about you but how about making sure of the rights of any citizens remaining in the UK?
There have been some reported mess ups that shouldn't be happening so neither side is innocent.
So what's your opinion on this?

I'm sure they will try to screw the guy leaving the club as far as possible.

Of course they will... only way they can stop other countries from leaving is to show how badly you'll get ****ed over if you go... they want to rip the UK off to do this...
