Bring back the damn suits

Old topic. It's cheaper to go the CGI route as Monroe and the producers have said before.

But the old movies are always going to be there.

And they should make more like them instead of what's cheap. seeing it ain't cheap, why should making it be?

Just quoting the studio's comments...paraphrasing Monroe's comments and the article.

The studio didn't want to go that route and that's the way it went. If they do a sequel, I'd look for it to go the same way.

besides there are just things they cant do in suits....like for instance being real ninjas.....

Now, the jumping rooftops was classic TMNT. Can't beat that all.

Just play the xbox videogame for that stuff.

I want an impressive live action version again.

And theres things you wouldnt do with live-action, like have a terrible "every 1,000 years monsters happen" plot.

Wanted it as well, but the studio wanted CG and that's what we're likely to get from here on out.

The C.G.I. has won me out in the long run. Their capable of doing so much more and it comes across like the live action movies in its own right.

the problem I have is that the mutant turtle aspect is downplayed by everyone looking like a mutant since they're cartoonishly drawn and animated.... boo to that.

Ah, I gotcha.

All we can do is just commenting the studio, but considering the first film was successful. They'll probably stick with that particular format.

Bring back the suits? are you kidding? you want another
[YT]9RY8CNUGOLw[/YT] ?!

That's what we'd get.

1.)Creature suit technology has improved A LOT since then.

2.)Jim Henson (the guys who worked on the 1st two movies) did not do the suits for the 3rd.

I love the first two movies, but the suits aren't coming back. I'm just impressed to see how many times the turtles have been redesigned. Look at how rich a history they have now with cartoons, the arcade games, live action movies, cg movies, it's impressive. I always like to look back and read up on every incarnation, even if I already know everything about it. Point is, although they have changed many times, maybe it's for the better.

They werent awesome in the scene where raph and leo start fighting and leos like "well u can be a big jerk sometimes." In the movie they can pull of more quirky superhero turtle motion.

Like i've been saying: Live action with CG turtles. There's just something special about seeing how they look in real life. A wholly CG movie is no different than a cartoon. Look at how perfect the CG in Transformers is. That could be done with turtles. They would look real and like better suits, but they could be ninjas.

Like it or not, CG is still just another cartoon. Live action is something different.

After the horrible job they did on the TMNT 3 suits, I never want to see them again. It just scarred me for life.

They could have done the Gollum route and had them all be CG characters, but I guess the cost would have been too great. Seeing as how the TMNT franchise has millions under its belt, I figured they could at least foot the bill for any f/x work.

Yeah, I either want them live action or live action world and mo-cap them or whatever. I didn't like the entirely CG, if I want to see fully animated, I'll tune into the cartoon.

The suits in this day and age would look amazing, anamatronics have advanced and they could use CG for very hard shots. That would have been great. But sadly, Doesn't look like the Turtles will be back in any form. They're a product of the 80s, the CG film wasn't the biggest success.

What's the story behind these pictures. I saw 'em at the TMNT (2007) IMDb site. Some wacky promotional fun?

One reason why I had very little interest in the movie is because it wasn't live action. I mean anybody can make a cartoon TMNT. It's not really worth seeing on the big screen if it isn't something extremely different than the show thats still playing every saturday morning. And the rating was a huge turn off too, most of the fans of the series are adults now, we deserved a more serious movie with a PG:13 rating. If they had done those things, I probably would have cared more.

it wasn't a cartoon, it was CGI and I think most would consider it "extremely different" from the current animated series. also, stating that most fans of the series are adults doesn't make much sense given TMNT has been a pretty consistent franchise for the past 20 years, giving it exposure to people of all ages. critiquing a film without having seen it is asinine.

^^ Sorry, but CGI basically is a cartoon. And I imagine that most fans of the original turtles are adults now. Sure, it is still a kids movie for the kids watching the new cartoon, but does that mean that they should just ignore the fans that made TMNT the franchise that it is?

I saw the film and enjoyed it. But I enjoyed it as being a long cartoon. Sure cartoons could be made as more serious and dark, but they rarely are. The first TMNT movie really hit it perfectly. Imagine something with that tone, and live action, but with CGI turtles. It would be perfection.

I hate when they're not given eyeballs but instead white slits.
