British comedy vs American comedy

I admit....American Comedy is hilarious at times..

..But I think Americans over use the laughter track. I've started to prefer comedy that doesn't use a laughter track. The joke is funnier because it's YOUR perception...I don't like being told when to laugh.

The only comedies I watch routinely are cartoons. :(

Simpsons
South Park
Robot Chicken
and soon to be Futurama

What about The Phantom Menace?

Snap!

The Brits have some good sitcoms but they get their asses handed to them when it comes to animated comedies.

I can't even think of an British animated comedy. So it's not like we get our asses handed to us, it's just you win by default.

Hell yes it's over-used.
I hate laugh-tracks, and even still, I'm so conditioned by a life time of exposure that when I see the rare comedy on PBS without one, even though it's funny, I feel all awkward for the actors as if they're bombing when they're not.

Also, thick American s***-heads take BBC comedies, bring 'em to PBS, and chicken-out and put laughs on. Problem is, the jokes are sometimes rapid-fire, so there's only 2 seconds between a good one and then the next, so you hear this absurd, abrupt *aHAHAHAH* that just cuts clean off after 2 seconds.
******o.

Please don't tell me they put a laughter track on the British version of the Office.

A show I'm really enjoying at the moment is Time Trumpet.

Time Trumpet has gone from mediocre to sublime in the last two episodes. 'Gays Spray Ken' and 'Rape an Ape' were genius, and the scenes of Tesco invading Denmark were surprisingly good CGI.

Are You Being Served?

Mrs. Slocombe -The central heating broke down and I had to hold my ***** in front of it. It was frozen solid.
