Bruce Willis will star in the thriller Extraction, reports Deadline. To be directed by Steven C. Miller (Submerged), the film will start shooting on February 9 in Alabama from a script by Umair Aleem.

According to the site, Willis will play a former CIA operative who hasn’t been the same since his wife was murdered. His son is a fresh young CIA operative following in his footsteps and with his father they are working on the development of a super-weapon called the Condor, when dad is kidnapped by a terrorist group. Learning that there is no plan for his father to be saved, Harry launches his own rescue operation. It leads to a conspiracy that will change his life forever.

Extraction is produced by Emmett/Furla/Oasis Films’ Randall Emmett and George Furla with Aperture’s Adam Goldworm. Tim Sullivan, Brandon Grimes and Gus Furla as co-producers.

The movie will be released in in the U.S. by Lionsgate/Grindstone through its multi-picture distribution deal.

Sounds like the latest in a long line of 3rd tier action flicks that Brucie will be picking up an easy paycheck for, it's like he's given up even trying to find good roles. :(

Yeah, my man Bruce needs another phone call from Tarantino in the worst way.

Another pay check film for him and these 80's/90's action stars. These guy's aren't trying no more.

Bruce is one of those actors who really needs to find his Ulee's Gold or Wrestler to get his career back on track.

I don't think he even cares anymore. It's all about the paycheck

He's a notorious dick. No wonder big names don't want to hire him.

I feel like his untapped potential is one of the biggest travesties of Hollywood. Ironically, the one director who really brought out his talent was M. Night Shyamalan (Sixth Sense, Unbreakable) - arguably his two best performances.

Willis is legitimately one of my favorite actors and I'll watch him in anything. The guy is so charismatic and is such a natural actor when you watch him. He always seems comfortable in front of the camera; it's an effortless quality that you don't see much anymore. Clooney and Pitt have it too.

He's made no secret of his for the paycheck mentality and while it's disappointing it isn't surprising either. Some actors are worse than others. Nicolas Cage can act but you wouldn't know it by seeing his resume. Then there's Rober DeNiro who has gotten a bit weird and speaking of weird, Ben Kingsley anyone?

F. Murray Abraham is another one.

Hell, Forest Whitaker too.

I can forgive some actors who take "questionable" rolls in order to land a better one as part of a deal with a studio, but Willis seems to be taking the easy road to a paycheck every time now.

Its sad to see, like an aging boxer who cant quit the game.

Ironically, that would be a great role for him to have to breathe some credibility back into his career.

Yeah lol, as some else said he really needs that "The Wrestler" role to get back on track.

He already did that, it was called "Pulp Fiction." :o

He doesn't seem to care any more, and after realizing what a prima donna he's become, neither do I.

Sucks. He used to be pretty cool.

I think it might be a mix of him not getting offered good roles and his behavior

Taking Rian Johnson's word for it, he was cool on the set of Looper and I imagine on the set of Moonrise Kingdom with Wes Anderson.

I feel like Willis is similar to Val Kilmer in that they act like jerks mostly when their heart isnt into the role. It's not like Willis can't act anymore, I just think he's not being offered decent roles.

Willis does need a bit of a career resurgence. I still put Willis in my top 5 favorite actors.

Yeah. He didn't sleepwalk with his bored smirk in those movies.

He'll probably film all of his scenes in a day for this Extraction movie if he's still demanding $1,000,000 a day like he wanted for Expendables 3.
