Bullet makers can't keep up with demand

I bet there are a lot more firecracker/gun powder deaths in China every year as opposed to the US. Doesn't mean that fireworks should be outlawed. And yes, there are some dangerous fireworks that could easily kill people or blow up buildings in China. The Chinese New Year celebration has massive amounts of fireworks and some of those suckers are huge.

The Supreme Court Ruled that it is not the Job of a Police Officer to protect the Lives, but enforce the Laws. A Police Officer has no duty to jump infront of a bullet to protect someone, but to make sure that the person who caused the harm is apprehended. It is no one's duty to protect themselves other than the individual.

Todays "You're the ****ing man" post...goes to SuBe

But you're supposing that the above is true. We can't verify from a credible source that it is. Bowling for Columbine all made us cry, but it's not evidence it a movie.

As I stated in my post, if ithe above is true, then I would suggest there is some correlation. Otherwise, I have no accurate source from the internet I could cite and therfore, I cannot prove anything.

There are plenty of restrictions making it difficult for a person to legally purchase certain kinds of guns and plenty of red tape to put someone through to get guns.

However. If you are a criminal and wish to use a gun in a violent crime you do not go to Jerry's Gun Store to buy guns like I do. You have to go to Jerry "The Weasel" Smith in his underground den of AK-47s.

Criminals are notorious for not following laws, why would they follow gun laws?

It is not that difficult to buy a machine gun in the States whereas there is really no need for one by any private individual. Will it prevent all criminals for getting them? Certainly not. Criminality will probably always exist as long as there is scarcity and interdictions. However, it may make it more difficult for them and especially for those budding criminals in obtaining such firearms.

Absolutely! It's called the American Revolutionary War. We were able to defeat the British ****ing Empire because enough armed patriots wanted it to happen.

Are you really comparing what happenned during the 1780s to what would hapen today based on current technology. Do you have armor piercing shells or Missile shields. It is ARMIES that allow revolutions not armed private individuals today. The gap between the firepower of the Army and private individuals is exponentially greater today then it was 300 years ago and even greater then it was a 1,000 years ago.

In any case, I do think the second Amendment is outdated and was written in based on the times that were lived by the authors. Of course, I realise that my own opinion is not an absolute and therfore I would suggest that we agree to disagree on the subject. Certainly, I cannot comment on the lifestyles in certain areas which I have never been in the US. Where I lived and visited in the US, I never saw the need for a hand held gun.

I agree with Chris Rock. We don't need gun control in this country. What we need, is bullet control. If a bullet cost $1000 each, there would be a whole lot less people getting shot.

And in response to the original post about why bullet makers can't keep up. Here's an add from a local pawn shop near me.

We've been getting our asses kicked in Iraq and Afghanistan by people who don't have any of that stuff.

BlackLantern does speak the truth. We're getting troops killed by some of the most outdated weapons to-date. Weapons we gave them to fight the Ruskies with back in the 80's.

All this talk of weapons makes me want to go to the shooting range. I haven't fired my pistol in like two years.

You and me both. The last time I shot a gun, I was with my dad at the local range with our .22. It was pretty fun.

I was at the gun store with two friends of mine. Needless to say, racist gun store owns really do exist..

My dad is a gun collector. And I went to the range with. I belive it was his way of bonding with me more. Since we are farily different on alot of things but we both enjoyed shooting at ranges. ( I don't like hunting like him)

Either way I miss going to the range. I just hate buying bullets. But its the price you pay for having fun.

You are right in a way but do not forget the Taliban have advanced artillery beyond what is the common gun people have plus they have the luxury of being able to fight from mountains across the border in Pakistan which represents considerable amount of difficulties. Not to mention, they hide out also among the general populace making long range weaponry difficult to use. In addition, these people were trainned in guerilla warfare.

I am not sure the analogy would work so well when it comes to everyday people.

You'd be surprised what "everyday people" can be capable of when pushed...especially if they are familiar with their area and terrain as opposed to an invading force who just gets dropped in there

Oh I know, I was just saying how they have out-dated stuff yet, they're still putting up fights.

Red Dawn anyone?

It doesn't cost that much to make a Bullet. You will just have people making them at home.

This makes me want to sell my stockpile of ammo for ridiculously high prices!

This is even affecting Law Enforcement, as I had AR-15 training yesterday and they said the supply was "critically low" and were searching for any way possible to save ammo.

Well you guys didn't learn your lesson from the last time you went to war against a smaller, less technologically advanced enemy.

Everyone should just pull out of Iraq and Afghanistan. It's exactly the same as Vietnam.

It's not really "easy" to get any kind of gun in the United States even less a machine gun, going through legal channels is always more difficult. The easy guns to get are ALREADY illegal.

Damn straight I am. Armor piercing shells and missile shields be DAMNED when it comes to a revolution. You might consider it idealistic or nonsense but in all reality the home team has the advantage of not wanting to be taken from their land of not wanting opposition.

Why do you think you hear the word "insurgents" on TV? It's because a group of armed citizens have decided that they don't like another country's army in their back yard anymore and they are going to do something about it.

I'll let you look up the body count yourself.

Dig it. Agree to disagree.

Lately I've been ending more an d more arguments like this. Am I going soft or did everyone start being nice?

I bet the black market suppliers love it. :csad:

Bullet makers can't keep up with demand because some people believe that 'Obamaz gonna take away all teh gunz'.

Around here it's been a running news story for the past several months. One gun store actually was bought out of stock in a just a week.

People are in fact calling it "The Obama Effect"
