business starting help (stat) NO(pron) lolz

my brother is thinking of starting up a business..like a barbershop,convenience store,ect.(not really sure yet)

but neither he nor I(im in highschool) know anything about starting up or maintaining a business.
he recently moved out of my parents home and i doing security at an airport. and my parents are willing to lend him money to start off his business.

any advice...(were clueless)
