Alexandre Bustillo and Julien Maury's departure from Dimension Films' new Hellraiser film was not a sour farewell after all.

An industry insider tells ShockTillYouDrop.com under strict anonymity the French duo behind this year's artsy bloodbath Inside, are in discussions with Bob Weinstein at Dimension Films about another potential film to make their American debut.

Our source tells us Weinstein has offered them an opportunity to helm Halloween 2, the inevitable follow-up to Rob Zombie's Halloween. And even though Bustillo and Maury recently said they were developing another new French thriller, Snow (details), these Halloween 2 rumblings corroborate whispers we've been hearing that the pair were close to committing to a U.S. picture.

Zombie has expressed publicly his disinterest in helming another Halloween. The writer-director's reworking of Carpenter's slasher milestone made $78 million worldwide.

I had a feeling that sooner or later someone would try to make a sequel to Zombie's Halloween.

You know guys, since it was suggested that Myers got shot in the head which we didn't see,it is managable to have him come back. His sister didn't try to shoot him anywhere else as well when she landed on top of him.

God damn it all.

I was so excited about the Rob Zombie remake, but it was disappointing, I think they should just leave it at that.

Couldn't stand Zombie's remake. Probably won't like the sequel.. :csad:

i'm up for it. i liked the remake. -hides so he doesn't get hit-

Hey, as long as Zombie isn't behind the scenes for the second one, it HAS to be better than the utterly despicable remake.

And considering that the original Halloween II was no great shakes either, I wouldn't object to a remake of that sequel.

I'd rather have bad Halloween than no Halloween. And by that, I mean that I hope that eventually someone will come along and make something great.

The trailer for Rob Zombie's HALLOWEEN actually got me pumped for the movie and as soon as the movie got rolling, I did the same. It was horrible!

It was a big blood fest. I had no problem with the changes and/or add ons. I still think that he over developed Michael Myers. I liked him being that mysterious figure that just plain and simply turned evil.

How much blood do you actually see in John Carpenter's HALLOWEEN? Little to none. It wasn't about the gore. It was about the quiet suspense and mystery that made that movie a classic. The second you take those elements away, it becomes just another horror movie.

I hope that for the sequel they go back to what made the original such a classic.

Story driven, evil driven, suspense...

And don't over do the music like Tyler Bates did.

IMO, Malcolm McDowell elevated the movie. He was a worthy sucessor to Donald Pleasance.

Idk about this. It'll def have my ticket, but in terms of a good film, I dont really think so.

I think they should also wait till the Remake of ANOES is done until this comes out.

Considering Zombie ain't apart of this.. it should be better.

Zombie's remake was better than the boring original. But it was pretty mediocre too.

*ducks*

Bah! The movie consisted of Laurie looking somewhere seeing Michael, looking back and not seeing Michael. Put some funky music over it and it's a bloody 90 minute YTMND page. The Thing, The Fog.... now those are horror movies.

Halloween is my favorite film of all time and I didn't mind the remake. Instead of being the same film but way worse, Zombie did his own thing. He left his imprint on it. It felt like a Zombie film, not another glossy remake. Not the studio cut mind you, but the director's cut.

A L'Interieur is the best horror movie in the last 10 years. It's incredibly dark, scary and moody. Beautiful film. And to think the directors will take on Zombie's dark and oppressive world. I couldn't be more excited.

Rob Zomibe made a stand alone Halloween film . There is no way to have his myers return .

Love Carpenter's original, and I liked Zombie's Halloween alright. However, I was perfectly fine with the idea of Zombie's version being essentially it's own thing, and having no sequels following it. But yeah, I knew that was asking for too much.

Yeah, he did his own thing which was the problem. His own thing consists of not being able to write a competent screenplay. There are so many more people in my screenwriting class more worthy of the chance to write a feature film than Zombie is.
