The play is set in the Wiltshire, England manor house of Andrew Wyke, an immensely successful mystery writer. So the original was directed by Joseph L. Mankiewicz, featuring Michael Caine and Laurence Olivier, was nominated for Best Director, 2 Best Actor noms and best actor... I need to see the original!
