Cameron Introduces JESUS. No, really...

I do. He died before we even knew about DNA and any sample of his DNA would be long decomposed by now.
Cellular decomposition does not necessarily destroy the presence of DNA. The same way we are able to verify the Mother of a mummified family (even though the difference here is obviously stated) or even more so, an entombed corpse, we'd still be able to pick up dna from splotches of "blood' or old pieces of 'flesh' no matter how deteriorated, or old.

Dude. Did you see the -movie- ShadowBoxer?

I cannot believe the guy who found it is even seriously considering the fact that the Romans, who cruxified him, beat him and humilated him, are then going to nicely write his name on his coffin.

Well, I think the whole idea suggests that the Biblical account is wrong, so maybe he wasn't ever beaten/humiliated.

Also, according to the Bible they did post a sign reading "Jesus, King of the Jews" on the Cross, so maybe those Romans were just Hella sarcastic pranksters.

And finally, the Bible says that the Romans had nothing to do with disposal of his body.
A guy had to donate his own sepulchre to keep Jesus' body in.
THEN, they prepared his body and annointed it with spices and oils, etc.

So inscribing his name on a box would not be out of the question IN this new, non-Biblical account of the life of "Jesus".

But yeah...

Again. HOW DO YOU KNOW nobody has that DNA? I don't know that...Do you know that? No. Just as much as the next person who has no knowledge of any secret findings or discoveries and or locked away samples. WHO KNOWS. I don't nor do you so do not claim to hold knowledge in an area which I have MUCH more understanding than you doing. Seeing as I was a Chemist and Biology was a favorite of mine. Genetics was a give away class for me in University. Don't sit there and try to press your idiocy into my forehead. It simply won't fit. The next time you try to insult my intelligence I suggest taking a year off to figure even the least bit of actual facts about my person and my retained knowledge. I've yet to hunker down and bash your intelligence, so don't come at me wrong and I won't destroy you.

"How do you know?" is not a logical argument. Try that in a formal debate and let me know how that goes for you. Using that "logic", you could "prove" anything you wanted. You could say "The Dinosaurs died because they all O.D.'d on black tar heroin". I would of course say, "No, that's not what happened". But you could just say, "How do you know?" Yup, that makes perfect sense.

Here's your argument as I understand it : someone somehow obtained the skeleton of Jesus (which is all that would be left), somehow stored in properly (I'm sure there were plenty of readily available and effective preservatives 2000 years ago, right?) and kept it secret (because who would want to break the single bigggest news story in history?). That person or persons successfully kept this secret for an undetermined amount of time, possibly even passing the secret on to others as they died. And then, the current holders of this secret (none of whom have told anyone, apparently) decided to come out of the woodworks and offer their DNA sample as a comparison for the skeletons Cameron has unearthed. If you don't see how utterly ridiculous that is, then I guess I can't convince you. That's fine, I really don't care anymore.

You'd still need a point of comparison. DNA you already knew belonged to Jesus to match it up against. This is why during criminal investigation, unless prior criminals are involved, they have to obtain DNA (and fingerprints) from the suspects. It needs to be matched up against something. So in other words we'd have to have a known piece of Jesus to compare it to.

Maybe the guy should get a Catholic Priest to consecrate some bread and wine into his body and blood, then they can match the DNA up against that..

You're more dense than I thought. To compare a situation where something which is legible and something which isn't is just ludicrous. The situations I used as examples were just that. Examples. You're obsessed with the idea that I believe in anything that is being discussed here, when in actually, all I'm doing is discussing. It's that simple.

"Jesus wasn't buried"

How do you know that?

It's that simple. For you to dig deeper than it is shows your desperation to save face.

With that in mind it's pretty obvious as to why you don't care anymore.:o

This is already known. I've known this already. Whose to say they don't have the comparative DNA samples though?

How...would you take a 2,000 year old lock of hair purported to be Jesus hair and...know that it really came, from Jesus? :(

You know just a few blocks away they have a mummified MERMAID?

Hey guys I have Jesus' skeleton, and the comparitive DNA sample to prove it:whatever: ...You don't see what's wrong with having the comparitive DNA sample to a figure in history whose authenticity as actually having existed is disputed.

You staple it to a popsicle stick and see if most of the other hair in the room feels bad and chooses to live their lives by a book that will be written about said hair...

You guys need to start thinking outside the box and realize that science explains everything and the bible contradicts itself, so obviously there is no life after death and that James Cameron obviously has the remains of Jesus.

He has DNA EVIDENCE! YOU CANT BEAT THAT!!

:whatever:

This hardly constitutes science...he isn't even following the scientific method. Supporting your highly debated claim with highly debateable evidence to try to prove the existence of a highly debateable historical figure is not science...not in the slighest.

I was being sarcastic, lol. I'm all for the "James Cameron lost his mind" group.

It's a "What IF" thought. So many of you are so deeply rooted in skepticism that anyone bringing up the possibility of anything else , no matter how improbable, are drawn and quartered.

It's ok though. Karma is a *****.

You're next, Christ!

My science, what have I done? RUN FOR YOUR LIVES, I've released Christ upon the world of the living!

Yeah, that's a good thing. I.E. If a weight loss adds tries to sell me "magic diet pills" with convienent computer generated images of people losing weight I don't believe it because I...am...not...stupid maybe. I don't fall for things easily. I am a skeptic.

Boy I hope I change so I can start "asking my doctor" about crap I don't need and eating McDonald's food and wearing A&F because I need it too be cool...

It's not about not believing in things that are obviously a ruse. It's the simple absurdity that people want to rule out every single possibility that doesn't cater to their beliefs. I'm smack dab in the middle of "I don't care". But to get at someone because they question the probability of something ...psh. Terrible tact.

Right...and this...is something that is an OBVIOUS RUSE. Not me, not Wilhelm, not any of the major posters here have any attachment to the Bible...Wilhelm flat out seems to hate it, I lean towards Aethiest....but this claim is absurd.

Thank you! This is not a religious debate, this is merely us not buying into something completely stupid.

Fixed it for you.

how would it make smug religious people more smug? i just think it will make them angry and more unbearable. either way, those of us who don't really care one way or another will be made miserable by the crossfire.
