Can We Get A Follow-Up To "Mr. Brooks", Already?!

KenK, I think you misinterpreted what Doctor Jones was trying to say. I think he's just imparting the discrepancy between first impressions and the actual quality of the film. I for one completely agree. I never saw it because it looked like a steaming pile, but finally watched it on DVD and was surprised how good it was.

But you've actually seen it! That's the point! Don't come up here talking about how you can't believe that there are people who like the movie, when you haven't seen it!

Yeah, but I don't think he was passing judgement on those of us who liked the movie, just expressing surprise that it's not what he thought it was based on the commercials.

I can't believe people actually like this film. I haven't seen it, but I remember seeing commercials, I thought for sure this was gonna be a **** fest. Then I looked in the tv guide an saw that this thing has three and a half stars out of four. Really??

Have to admit Doctor Jones that your being fairly biased with your assumptions. One, you haven't seen the film. Two, you're actually using a TV guide star rating to judge it. Three, I already know you hate/loathe Kevin Costner.

I'm not saying you should check it out but it was a pretty decent flick.

Why don't you try watching the film before you get on people for liking it. It's one of my favorite films of the last few years.

Didn't Costner once say that he would never do a sequel?

I still havent seen this movie but Ive heard some mixed opinions and reviews on it. I heard Costner and Cook smashed it though

I think the casting of Cook worked for the character he plays it. If you see the film, you'll see why it made sense for him to be in that role. But personally, the joy in the film really comes from the interaction between Costner and Hurt. Hurt especially, he's just fantastic; funny, devious, and even at times comforting. It's a very interesting performance from him.
