Seems like a trick question.
Because civil liberties affect everything you value, that is why it is so important, isn't it?
If you are gay, and you want to have a pride march, or even companionship (romantic or with other LGBT folks, whatever), if the civil liberties are not there, will you have these?
Or, if you want to have interracial friendships and your country says no to those?
If you want to be healthy, but if you are beaten every time you speak up for freedom, will you have good health? More importantly, will you have good health, if you are not allowed to assemble peacefully as you will, or speak your thoughts, right to privacy and so on?
The things we love, I feel, need a bedrock of freedom to enjoy.
