My internet was working fine yesterday, but today it cut off completely. I type this message from work.

I checked the router settings page for my router, and there is no IP address under adsl port, but I've got an Internet light on the router.

Someone at work suggested I turn off my router for an hour then switch it back on again, but I doubt that would do much good.

EDIT: Asked another collegue and he says power down my router for 48 hours.

I thought you were leaving the internet forever?

What?? Stop talking like a time traveller.

What you did, or will do is consequence of what you will do but haven't done.

turning the router and dsl modem off for an hour or so does sometimes help... 48 seems a bit extreme though.

have you also tried to go into the router settings and release/renew your ip?

i can't believe i'm helping you get back on the internet. ugh.

When I got home last night, I switched my router off. Turned it on today, and now its working :)

Thanks TripleFive *huggles*
