First Avenger CapAm with a gun?

I see they're keeping this theme in the movie.

I guess just about anything sets Cap off.

aw man that pic is from the Ultimate Cap mini. normally Ultimate Cap is a bit of a dick but he,s damn near a psycopath in that mini. dont know whos writing it but theyre getting the guy all wrong. Ultimate Cap is a jerk but he,s not THAT bad. lol

Is he like Nick Fury? That's kind of an interesting prospect.

ya know, i guess he is a bit like Ultimate Nick Fury. just not quite as deceitful, but definately morally ambiguous. lol

Well granted this does happen after Ultimate Avengers where he confronted Red Skull, so i thought the anger had some reasoning behind it.

in modern day Cap hes going to be with the Avengers- a big green unstoppable monster, the god of thunder, and the man who owns the best weapons and technology in the world...who needs a gun? lol

actually i didnt really factor that in. hes been a bit more agressive since that happened.

Besides, a gun works well against Nazis but in the Avengers I suspect whomever they're going against won't be so easy to dispatch and a gun would likely be much more useless there than in WWII.

He's at war.

Plus the only good Nazi is a bullet ridden Nazi.

I mean as long as he doesnt do anything sadistic with his weapons its all good.

I think he means a quick clean kill...as opposed to knee-capping them then pissing on the wound.

Can see Ultimate Cap doing that tho'.."It's only a knee cap you *****, what are you, French?...No, what I left of your skanky teeth tells me your British".

Ultimate diplomacy ftw :cwink:

:lmao: Yeah I don't think he'll be turning in Jack Bauer but ya never know.

Thats right sir, I agree!

There was a lengthy discussion last year on the boards, tho not sure if it had a dedicated thread.

It does IMO beg the question. If he brandishes a gun in "First Avenger", out of necessity, will he need them in the films that follow? and if not, why not?

It actually did have it's own thread that poses the overall question of whether Cap should kill. People overwhelmingly voted yes.

I don't think Cap would use a gun in the Avengers, and I think they'll find a reason why.

Ultimate Cap is not Captain America...he's a what if character based on Captain America. WHile I still enjoy reading the character... it is almost like he's Bizzaro Cap!

Cap has always carried a gun in WWII throughout continuity. Although, I personally I figured that Cap only used it when absolutely forced to... and mostly for things like covering fire and taking out long distance targets. I don't think that Cap needs to or wants to kill enemy soldiers if he doesn't have to. It's not in his personality... he's not the punisher. He understands and values human life and as far as I can remember, Cap has only killed a few people in his 50+ years of having been thawed out. Although, I have not read a Cap comic (other than some collected issues of the Winter Soldier storyline) in some time.... so maybe he's been redacted.

The image in my Avatar is actually from an issue where Cap was forced to use a gun to save the lives of a bunch of hostages... and for years after that incident he was tormented for having to take a life...even if it meant saving many more innocent lives.

busting caps in nazis no doubt
