All these feats clearly show he is superhuman. Why do all the handbooks, some comic writers and Marvel say he's not.

    Here are some highlights.
Not even Thor's hammer which he's been known to throw at light speeds can brack Cap's shield. It doesn't even knock him off balance.

Thick steel doors are no mach for Cap, even if he's knocking it down with a broken shoulder.

Could Wolverine beat up Thor..Nuff' Said

Or Namor, who can withstand the deep oceans force.

Or Thunderball, whos taken shots from Thor's hammer, but his durability is no match for Cap's fist.

It's obvious, Captain America is really Batman when he finds the time to travel to the various Marvel universes.

All of his bios say that he's just a very in shape man. Which really would defeat the purpose of making a super soldier program if all you could acheive was exactly what you would acheive normally, but six million dollars more expensive.

He used to be Super but it's been retconned to peak human.

He's super though. Cause really he was a weak frail little man. So if a strong athlete took the Serum theoreticaly it would make that guy Abover human.

But it has been explained that the shield absorbs impact blah blah blah.

He's Super Marvel. Get used to it.

this one's not a big deal, his shield is almost indestructable and can absorb impact

Cap is superhuman in that he's peak human in all areas of physical ability. A human being cant do that. It's not possible. He's not just fit he's as strong as a human can be, as fast as a human can be, as agile as a human can be etc.
He's like five different people combined who've trained their entire lives for specific areas of perfection.

That may not seem like much but that IS superhuman. Thats what the super soldier serum did. He's stronger than Arnold Schwartzenegger, faster than Donovan Bailey etc.

If you trained all your life you could maybe be as strong as Cap OR as fast as Cap OR as agile as Cap etc. You could never be Cap though unless you got super soldier serum yourself.
Thats how cap's superhuman and thats how I always saw him.

They were refering to the time that he took something that gave him super strength. Did you think they meant at the time he first took the super soldier serum?

I don't know what they meant, I just thought maybe he did some of those feats while having super-strength... I'm not a big fan of Captain America, I only started reading his title when Brubaker started writing.

But how can he be stronger then Arnold Schwartzenegger without being as big as if not bigger then him? How can he be so agile and be that big?

As many have pointed out he's peak human in various conflicting areas. He's as strong as a man can get, but he's also as fast as a man can get, and just as agile. Have you seen The World's Strongest Man? Have you seen Olympic sprinters? Olympic gymnasts? It's not possible for one man to be one par with the best in these areas. A guy could become as strong, but he'd be too bulky to be as fast or agile. Captain America, through the use of the serum, can. Therefore, Cap is more than human, i.e. Super-human.

    Super soldier formula thats how.
That and a willing suspension of disbelief on the part of the readers.

Anyway my point is Marvel claims he's not superhuman because non of his particular abilities are technically in the superhuman range. But all of them are at the peak human level which in itself makes him superhuman.

Like the Question mentioned. Why go through all the trouble of the super soldier formula if you could just give a guy a total gym and save a lot of time and money. The Super Soldier formula allowed him to be peak human in all areas without sacrificing abilities in any area and without being obsenely large and bulky.
