Here's an interesting bit of trivia I just discovered.
In 1964, writer/director/actor Donald F. Glut (science fiction novelist, comic book writer, and TV screenwriter) would write and direct a short film (3 minutes in length) as his homework assignment for class at USC film school.
Randal Kleiser (who would later direct such movies as GREASE, THE BLUE LAGOON, and FLIGHT OF THE NAVIGATOR) would play Captain America.
Bob Burns (the world renown archivist and historian of props, costumes, and other screen used paraphernalia from some of the greatest {and not so great} science fiction, fantasy, and horror motion pictures) would play the mutant.
From Burn's fabulous store of memorabilia, they used the original Captain America suit from the 1944 serial.....and the first Don Post mask made from the original Universal mold, of the Metaluna Mutant (the character from the movie THIS ISLAND EARTH {1955}).
