Cars 3

A young car named Cruz Ramierez? lol. I'm in.

I watched Cars 2 and thought it was such a mistake to make Mater the star of the movie. Lightning is the star of the franchise and any sequels should be about him. I hope this movie doesn't make him a background character again.

I was sure after the trailer that this was about reinventing oneself after a disabling accident. But the plot describtion above doesn't fit.

Holy...

I was not expecting that tone.

I would swear that it was a parody trailer for a Cars reboot.

I don't get why make the trailer that dark.

It's only dark in comparison to what came before it. It honestly looks like a standard Pixar film to me, where a really heavy incident leads to a heartwarming story.

I think it's more shocking that all of this is coming from a Cars movie.

The Cars movies have usually been lighthearted. There's a significant tone shift in this. Not saying that it's bad, but it's noteworthy.

Yeah, that's what I was trying to get at. It looks crazy dark compared to the really lighthearted stuff from before. First time I've been interested in a Cars film though, so that's something haha.

Wow, that was shockingly dark. I think they did that to grab the attention of everyone who didn't like Cars 2 (so pretty much everyone over the age of 10) by saying "Hey, watch THIS!"

Well, I don't think this is going to be Cars 2...

Still not that interesting. This is one of these franchises that should have been left to die years ago.

I'd argue that if they're going the "disabled McQueen trains someone to be his apprentice or finds a way to get back on his feet" angle could work if executed well.

But this is Cars, so we'll see.

I'm sure the next trailer will be more familiar once Mater pops up with his "comedy".

I think this was Pixar's way of saying "Guys, we know we ****ed up with Cars 2, but we're gonna make it right this time."

Hopefully. Hell i hope the first 5 minutes of this are as emotional as Up's.

I would probably pleasure myself seeing Mater in a wreck like McQueen was in this trailer. To me, he is infinitely worse than Jar Jar Binks.

You're talking about Cars.

Up is a modern classic. Cars 3 suddenly starting with a dark and somber prologue IMHO isn't suddenly going to make it comparable to Up.

I wanna know what Pixar films people are watching that people are saying this looks like a standard Pixar film
