Casino pressing charges against gamblers using faulty machine

They would have to pry the money from my cold dead fingers. All you would have to say is that I didn't know it was broken, I thought I was just winning a lot.....

I really don't see how this will stand up in court. They technically can't make them give the money back.

I remember a year ago where a gas station had accidentally placed the decimal in the wrong place when figuring the price-per-gallon of gas. Instead of being $2.50 a gallon it was really giving out gas for .25 cents per gallon.

That is the gas station's fault. What are they going to do? Go take every person's car away that bought the gas fair and square?

Give me a break...

There is no way they can prosecue someone if as powderman claims, the person states they did not know. And if anyway they can, it would be a clear sign of big corruption in the Nevada state courts.

If they didnt tamper with it.... fair game i say

I agree. If the Caesar's was stupid enough to put a machine out on the floor that wasn't properly configured and set it up for people to play on it, they deserve what they got. It's their mistake and they should have to pay for it.

Agreed. It's definitely not the gamblers fault that Caesar's allowed a broken machine to be played. You can't hold gamblers accountable. If its on the floor and playable it's fair game. Like the lady said in the article when a player puts money in and the machine jams they don't get their money back so why should it work in reverse.

Do they honestly think that they would win....????

Indeed, just proves your not ment to win in these places and its all a rip off ;)

The fact that they've got the county prosecutor trying to figure out how the casinos might be able to press criminal charges is disgusting as hell to me in all of this. That guy should be fired just for considering it.

Fired? He should be used as a slot machine.

It is entirely the casinos' responsibility to make sure each of their machines works properly, and to make sure that they turn off the faulty ones.

Honestly, I'm sure half the people that used the machine just thought they were getting lucky.

yet another unjustified lawsuit...

...seriously, in America, you could probably get sued if someone gets a heart attack while they saw you changing your baby's diapers.

A few months ago in Belfast, there was a faulty bank machine that was giving out extra money that didn't come out of your account at all... so in other words, free money. And people qued up for hours to use this machine, until someone finally came along and closed the machine down.

The bank at no point attempted to prosecute anyone that used the machine. But you know, in that case the bank actually would have had more of a case than these idiot casino guys.
