I doubt that would have happened if the various revolutions occuring around that time didn't.

I doubt slaves would have ever been freed if it werent for the Enlightenment Movement, which the United States heavily endorsed (at the time, not now).

Eventually? Really? Yeah, i'm sure those 80 some odd years just flew by.

Look. All the revolutionary war did was give rich white colonists their country. Black folks were still slaves. Still not equal. Still property.....and the only reason why we aren't still slaves is because, just like the revolutionary war, some southern born white people decided they wanted a country of their own too and they just so happened to have had some guns and cannons. And removing the slaves was a good way for the northern white folks to destabilize the southern ones, so that's what they did. Which is pretty much the same reason the Brits got rid of Slavery a full 30+ years earlier. So, once again. F**ked either way. At least we might have gotten some lube from the Brits.
