Cast the Mortal Kombat Remake

Ken Wantanabe as Shang, cliched, but I think he could do both the old and young version of the character

No I couldn't see him as Quan Chi but as Raiden or Shang Tsung, easily.

What if Ray Park could do Quan Chi?

He pulled off Darth Maul

Ray Park is too short to make an intimidating Scorpion... he'd be much more effective as Sub-Zero, Reptile, or even Noob Saibot.

So Ray Park didnt pull anything off when it comes toDarth Maul
So ray parks lack of voice the episode one as darth maul makes him not a suitable for mortal kombat?? And darth maul had like 2 lines anyways??? That's totally irrelevant.. Ray park is a very suitable actor and can fight ray park FTW

he was heavily involved with the choreography for Episode 1 and i consider Darth Maul's fighting style one of the best things about that movie. just because his voice was dubbed over doesn't mean he didn't act the part. his role was limited, but even with such limitations he made Darth Maul more badass than Dooku and Grievous combined.

Chris Casamassa, the guy who played Scorpion in the original Mortal Kombat, is 5'10 and Ray Park is only an inch shorter than him. besides, height doesn't always equal intimidation.

I'd need to see Ray Park in a Ninja Mask first. Ray Park would probably be a good Sub-Zero, but part what made Scorpion so great were his eyes.

Chris Evans as Johnny Cage is an excellent suggestion

why Mortal Kombat 1 gets so much love I'll never understand. sure it could have been worse, (see the sequel) and the fact that it wasnt completely atrocious is one thing, but it was still a crap, crap movie.

That's part of its appeal. It's a high-budget B-movie. And it's awesome. :cool::up:

imo...Ray Park has more sinister eyes than Chris Casamassa. here's a quick manip of Ray as Scorpion.

if you didn't see it when it first came out then you won't appreciate it the way we do. i saw it about a year ago and i realize that it's a pretty crappy movie, but i was about 13 when it came out so my knowledge and standards for movies were much lower then.

He looks more like Sub-Zero material IMO. I still prefer Chris Casamassa as Scorpion. Especially because he looked exactly like the games.

i honestly can't see Ray Park as Sub-Zero. the way i see Scorpion and Sub-Zero is that they're exact opposites. Sub-Zero, being the "colder" of the characters, should be calm, collect and smooth. Scorpion, being from hell and all, should be a hot head...wild, energetic, and unpredictable......which is how i would describe Ray Park's style. besides....Chris Casamassa may look like the Scorpion you posted, but Ray Park looks more like this Scorpion...

Isn't that a bit clished though? Someone that commands the ice element should be cool and collected, and the other one that commands fire is the hot head.

if it's not broke, don't fix it. it's a formula that works. if you switch the characteristics, you go against logic.

I just think he was fine the way he was in MK1. No need to give him a hothead personality and turn him overly angry and aggressive in a sequel or remake.

he was definitely one of my favorite parts of MK1, i even dressed up as him for Halloween...but i love whenever contrasting fighting styles go against each other. as good of a job as Casamassa did, i think Ray Park would take Scorpion to a whole new level.

He and Reptile were my favorite parts. Reptile probably more than Scorpion. I just loved the fast pace and aggressiveness of the fight. He gave Liu Kang a total beatdown. Which of course didn't phase him at all, and got back up in traditional hero fashion. Which was the only lame part.
