it would be a little strange if they did make harry goblin before norman, but greg said in that podcast they wouldnt be making changes on identity on the big named guys like norman/gg, otto/ock, etc.....

So...is Green Goblin really Harry Osborn?

Because, one, he stole that Globulin Green serum and took it, but right before he did, he got purple punch on his green suit...pretty symbolic to me, lol.

And, two, with this being the first episode of Green Goblin; why wasn't Norman Osborn in it?

EDIT: Found out what globulin is, nevermind, haha; I can always trust wikipedia, lol.

So did OsCorp make the serum to heal diseases?

Yeah, I was thinking that same thing earlier, but I couldn't remember where I'd heard it from, exactly.

I think there making it way too obvious that Harry is probably Red Herring. One they dont even show, Norman and all those times Harry runs off and takes the forumla.

Exactly my point, as I said earlier today, Norman was not seen in this episode, Harry was. It gives us a hint that Norman could very well be the Green goblin.

Harry being the goblin isnt making any changes to the identities, it's just changing the order they came in :p

Which is exactly why I felt that this is far more melodrama than suspense.

Is the ep on the net yet?

Not on Youtube or Dailymotion :csad:

I'm actually liking Harry's being a Red Herring, mainly in the way they're doing it: His taking the formula like that, once revealed to have little to do with the Goblin, will still serve as a foreshadow to his later drug problems.

Indeed, That's one of the great things about this show so far. There's alot of twists where something appears to be something, but it's really not.

I think I might just become very unpopular. Sure, it was a great episode of a great series...but I didn't find it particularly stellar or brilliant, especially after "Invisible Hand." Honestly, I cringed at Peter's flashback sequence to earlier in the day in the midst of his fight with Green Goblin. Who would do that? Not only that, but--who would have the time to do that? And it seemed almost as an excuse to awkwardly heighten suspense by a clumsy in medias res attempt, and it also seemed to proliferate some unneeded recycled fight scene animation. Also, I thought the "mystery" with Harry's drinking of the formula is handled rather kids' show-clumsy, as well. Yes, it's a kids' show. Yes, I'm sure the younger audience found it very interesting, and I know that older fans would be at least momentarily baffled, perhaps. But that doesn't excuse a lazy execution. It just felt overly hyped.

Now, I'm not saying that it was a bad episode. The action sequences were great. The development of the Peter-Brock, Peter-Gwen, Peter-Harry, and Peter-MJ storylines was excellent (I would say that Flash's dialogue was too corny, but it fits his character well). A nice execution of the Green Goblin fight sequence, as well. And I liked his use of Tombstone's own thugs against the Big Man.

The story was solid, the action was great...but...the execution was sometimes lacking, especially in light of past episodes. I give it an 8 out of 10.
i feel pretty much the same way you did, i don't think this episode is worthy of all the praise it's getting. the Goblin did sound much better than in the preview where he sounded lame, but his pumkin fanny pack, and pretty much is design from the neck up is pretty bad i find. the helmet and flappy things on the side of his head looks dumb, should have gone with the hood. i'm also not liking how this show is messing with power levels, i mean Ox can break free of spideys webs no problem, but GG is stuck for awhile. It would be wierd if the reason Harry was good at football was because of the Goblin formula, since he wasn't even that good, he barely made the team. So the forumla makes Norman a beast, and Harry only slightly better? MJ sounded much better in this episode than the last one. i'm also getting really tired of seeing Spidey not seem to stand a chance against every enemy he fights, i mean where is his Spider-strength? he like kicked Goblin once and that was it. Aside from the few criticisms i have here the rest of the episode was good. Oh and one thing i think may have been the reason that the episode wasn't as good as the others was because it was the first one to not really have an ending, it was much more open ended then the others, like it was the first part in a trilogy or something

I didn't get the impression that he was stuck, merely that he was biding his time to make a clean escape while Spidey was distracted with the bomb. Also, I like the open-ended aspect of the story--I don't necessarily like the seeming finality of some of the earlier episodes, although it was nice when it was mentioned that the previous Super-Soldiers were being placed in holding cells, implying that they could be released in the future.

Well, if they're being true to the comics then the Goblin is supposed to always escape until we find out who he is. Not sure if that'll happen this season since Venom is supposed to be the finale's villain.

Green Goblin could just disappear for some time.

I'm gonna take a wild guess and say GG will have a much bigger role in season 2, since there having Hobby in season 3

The mask is removed, and it is revealed that the Green Goblin is...

Really, the "suspense" behind Green Goblin's "secret" identity is feeling more and more like very unsubtle melodrama.

"Oooh! Ahhh! That's how it all starts. But then later there's running and...screaming."

By the way, Flash Thompson is like the greatest dancer...EVER!
