Same, I was expecting more abuse of the laugh track, was was pleasantly surprised it didn't seem to go in that direction in the trailer, also the trailer seemed to show a lot of heart.

I feel like they looked at shows like the Goldbergs, or Fresh Off The Boat, and was like "lets make a show set in the late 80's early 90's"

but to play it safe decided to use an already successfully character from one of the other shows, instead of making up a new character

I think TBBT is ok, but this show is great. No laugh track, and the kid is just awesome, especially how he relates to everyone in his family. Adult Sheldon only appears in brief voice overs, but it works too. Normally I wouldn't even have though of giving this show a chance, but I watched all the trailers of all the new shows, and passed on most of them, but this show looked to have promise. Am definitely glad I decided to give it a go.

It isn't as much like TBBT as you would expect. There is a lot for them to mine in the early 90's which is the current era that rebootitis is all about.

So I've been watching this on and off... This is supposed to be a comedy right? So far it's been dipping its toes in some darker subjects.
