Limitless - CBS Continuation of the Film

I finally got caught up with this. I gotta say, this show is one of the biggest surprises. I wasn't expecting much, but I really enjoy it a lot.

I like that Bradley Cooper is just a one-episode-only appearance type of guy either.
He's also not just a hand-off producer too.

You have the feeling he's actually investing in this show.

90% of the time actors turned producers usually don't invest this much time and effort

5 minutes in, I can already tell this will be hilarious. All procedurals need this format.

Couldn't get over laughing every time they used "hug" in place of "kill" as I'm sure if someone who hadn't watched the show before just started watching, they'd be seriously lost.

Also, while Brian's plan to get Morra's jacket was good, I have to agree with Brian's costumed inner voice that he intentionally didn't replicate the damaged button perfectly because he wanted Rebecca to notice it.

I found the gimmick in this weeks really distracting and irritating.

the bit on the elevator with the allergic guy had me on the floor :funny:

I thought it was a creative way to cope with the horror of those cases. Cute but not mocking the seriousness of the crimes.

God, those robots were creepy.

And perfect ending for Spike.

I'm wondering if he micropenis'd Spike as payback for being a mole, based on his "It's not to scale" comment to the old lady.

I thought that was another very fun episode.

Also, being Indian myself, that Bollywood number was just shockingly great!

Things are getting interesting with Sands.

Huh, now I am a bit sympathetic towards Sands.

loved the opening credits with the comic book art versions of the cast members :D

I would have been but the revelation that he killed Rachel's dad under Morra's orders keeps him from being redeemed.

Also, have to wonder how Brian will treat Ike/Jason now that he slept with Brian's sister (had a feeling that would happen while waiting for Brian to come back.)

I just realized the actor who played Sands was a member of MI6 in the Brosnan 007 films he was in TND, TWINE, and DAD wow I THOUGHT he looked familiar :007

Yep.

Colin Salmon played Charles Robinson in the Brosnan era Bond films. Salmon also played Walter Steele on Arrow.

Salmon was in a punk band just like his character Sands.

It was a good episode but I absolutely loved all the animated story-telling regarding Sands, right from the beginning title sequence.

This was one of the best eps so far, I enjoyed Sands backstory and seeing him and Brian work together.

The use of the comic panels throughout the ep was awesome. :D

Given the type of guy Brian is it would be strange if he got too uptight about it, plus we need to see more of his sister. :ilv:

I do think this is one of those television series that surpasses the movie it is based on. I recently rewatched the movie and it felt so much flatter in comparison to the series.

Brian and Rebecca, Sands and Naz, Mike & Ike, they are just so much more interesting and enjoyable than Morra and the rest of the cast from the movie were.

And the television show has so much more room for the creativity behind what NZT lets you do.

The Tv show evolved from the from the movie and expanded on the mythology. The same thing with Stargate SG1.

When they made the movies they probably didn't have a spin off TV show and storylines in mind.

Not likely, no. Stargate SG-1 is another that I think did it better than the movie although I actually liked that movie more than I did Limitless as a movie.
