Zoo is adding two new faces for season two.

Vampire Diaries alum Alyssa Diaz and Show Me a Hero star Josh Salatin have joined the CBS summer drama as series regulars, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.

Diaz will play Dariela, who is part of a military unit which encounters a strange and troubling new development in the animal mutation. Her other credits include Ray Donovan and Army Wives. She is repped by Joseph Le Talent Agency and Swerissen Management.

Salatin will portray Logan, a mysterious stranger Jamie (Kristen Connolly) encounters who may be hiding a dangerous secret from her. The actor, whose credits also include The Following and The Carrie Diaries, is repped by UTA and managed by Kyle Luker at Industry Entertainment.

Zoo - Season 2 - Joanne Kelly to Recur

Having survived some (really) wild adventures at Warehouse 13, Joanne Kelly will next brave (very) wild animals on CBS’ Zoo.

TVLine has learned exclusively that the actress has landed the recurring Season 2 role of Allison, the Deputy Secretary of Defense who is actively seeking a solution to the animal crisis… and who shares a surprising history with Mitch (played by Billy Burke).

An adaptation of the James Patterson novel, Zoo was renewed back in October after emerging as last summer’s most watched scripted series (averaging 6.4 million weekly viewers). Season 2 will bow Tuesday, June 28 at 9 pm, with a two-hour premiere in which the danger escalates as the animal mutation moves to Phase 2, and they begin attacking infrastructure and creating deadly environmental phenomena in a bid to make the planet uninhabitable.

I think she'll became a warmer character throughout the season. Abe made her smile and she dropped her guard a bit.

That elephant chase was beyond epic though. lol t: Shook those tranqs off like a boss.

Pretty much. Dick move by his dad and his crazy group of extreme animal lovers.

The time jump.... I like it. [Blackout]If Mitch is alive and well. He's going to look like **** and has one hell of a story to tell. Logan also has a story since he never said who his new bosses were. Possibly another group out there with their own agenda.[/blackout]

[Blackout]I think the sterile is still keeping regular animals at bay. The animals still attacking are the results of cross breeding between hybrids and regular animals. The sterile has no affect on their new genetics.[/blackout]

in the time jump people seemed surprisingly adapted to the situation

just think about what that would mean[BLACKOUT]10 years without a human birth, the population must be down to ridiculous levels, I mean in addition to everyday death rate, you had the world in chaos the last few years, which I am sure spiked the death rate to recorded highs, with out those life being replaced by a new one(in terms of population)

you have to figure probably over billion people die during that time[/BLACKOUT]

I guess the really question is [BLACKOUT]is this last generation, also sterile ? and when/or should they start repopulating, if it is discovered they aren't [/BLACKOUT]

Totally expected this.

That last season was a total joke and I ended up watching it more of as a sense of owing it to myself where it was going after following it for two seasons.

I regretted it.
