Cell Phone Watches

Are there any yet? I have wanted to have one since i read Dick Tracy...And yes, i have tried googling it. All i found was some Chinese site that promised "Chinese prices, western quality", with some possibly photoshopped images of various models...The technology should be there by now, right? Does anybody know if such a thing exist? (Note: It doesnt have to have a video function, just regular telephone tecnology, like talking into a microphone.)

The only thing I can think of is a watch best friend once showed me. It connects to his actual phone and allows him to send short text responses to whoever just sent him one.

Thanks for the reply. Yeah, i have read about those but i mean a phone watch that you can make actual calls on. Video calls would be ideal but regular telephoning would suffice. Boy this chinese phone site has scam-alert written all over it...

I've posted about these numerous times in the business / tech thread. Samsung is the hot producer right now for SmartWatch technology but there are many players. Right now it has to be tethered to a phone but the ones coming next are supposed to be self-sufficient

I don't really see the point. I mean we have our phones which can do almost anything and they've replaced watches for some people. It's a neat gadget though.

Thanks for the tip about Samsung! Yeah, i talked about this at work today and that's pretty much what i was told. That you had to have like a "master" phone connected to it. That last part you mentioned sounds interesting

Nah, seriously, it would be cool to wear your cellphone. You would not risk loosing it somewhere and it would look awesome dammit! Also it would be good for those who are scared of cell phone tumors and stuff too.
