..thoughts on this team and the others? I hope we all can win the first challenge tonight.

I believe we can win the first challenge. I'm a film major so I can come up with a great premise (though everyone should try to come up with it). I'll post a premise tomorrow when I fully think of an idea.

I've written some scripts so I can think of one too. Dunno if it be any good, but worth a try to have at least 2 ideas.

Anyone know Paint and/or photoshop for the grid?

I know Photoshop, but the best I can do is something minimalistic so I believe that if anyone comes up with a premise, try to do something with plot device or macguffin or something like that.

It's not a grid you're doing. You're doing a poster. The game grid is being made for you. All you're making is the squares that will be on the grid.

I'm excited to see what you guys come up with.

Present. :ninja: Brainstorming on a premise and visually thinking about a poster. *ponders*

You're back to Iron Fist!?

Stop confusing me! :argh:

Anyway, I already have idea for a poster. I just have to iron out my basic premise.

Hola. Everybody get the challenge? Our theme is Gangster/Crime Films:

1 – Think of an idea for a film. You will need to create a basic premise for your own Oscar Type film, based on the theme I give you. This includes a story, title, and how it relates to your given topic. You may make this as bare bones as possible. Or, you could go nuts and cast it, hire a crew, etc. The choice is yours. Be creative (or not)!

Your premise will be graded on a 1-5 point scale on the following:

Creativity
Quality
Consistency with theme

2 – You will need to make a poster for your film. Use paint, photoshop, whatever. Just make a poster that represents your film.

Your poster will be graded on a 1-5 scale on:

Creativity
Quality
Visual Representation of Film (how well does it sell the film)

3 – You must make a player square for each member of your tribe, with the theme of dressing up for the Oscars. So in other words, how you look in the audience of the ceremony.

Your squares will be graded as a group on a 1-5 scale (essentially by how well the judges in the Oscar committee like them in general...they're only worth 5 points).
I have a couple of ideas for the film, but I wanna make sure we have all of our team roles defined beforehand. Anyone wanna volunteer to do the poster? Or the squares?

I have a great idea for a poster, especially if the protagonists are cops.

We officially have two days, so I say we try to lock down our ideas for the film, poster, and squares by Wednesday night, then finalize everything Thursday night.

Yes I made the switch back lol, Iron Fist for life!

Lets not forget the title, once we get the premise going.

Here's something I just came up with...for a title, story, cast.

Hype Crime: The Rise & Fall of Jal.

Story: The story of how weird Jal went from stalking Alba to being the crime boss of the Hype! Then his sharp fall that resulted in his trip to the Hype grave.

It relates to the topic cause Jal is a crime boss in this story. And theme is crime drama/ gangster.

Cast: Jal as Jal
Matt as Chalk Outline(lol)
ETM as The Lunatic
Spoons as Police Chief Randy
Bamf as Rival Mob Boss
Randy Quaid as Randy Quaid

All I got...

Are we limited to casting Hypesters?

As far as I know, I don't see a problem with that. Confirming with the boss, though.

EDIT: He said it's fine, his example was you can say something like "Directed by Martian Scorsese" or whoever else you want in your picture.

That's what I thought. Cool. So we need to look at this as, "If you could make your dream, crazy crime flick, who would it be in it and what would it be about?" Nicholson, Pacino, DeNiro, etc.

So are we going with the stuff I came up with or something else? Or using it but have real actors play posters here? But keep Matt as chalk outline...haha.

Okay, here's my pitch:

TITLE:
The Triumvirate

GENRE:
Crime Drama

RATING:
R

LOGLINE:
In 1970s New York, a lone reporter (Jeremy Renner) teams with a contract killer (Michael Fassbender) to take down members of a corrupt inner circle who secretly run the city.

DIRECTOR:
Tony Gilroy

CAST:
Jeremy Renner - a reporter
Michael Fassbender - a contract killer
Jon Hamm - the corrupt city mayor
Willem Dafoe - the corrupt police chief
Tom Wilkinson - the drug kingpin
Amy Adams - Renner's fiancee
We can Photoshop a quick poster that encapsulates it.

Here's my thoughts on the premise:

Is Amy Adams Renner's fiance? If not, I suggest that that happens because it would be a great motivation for the reporter to go for revenge if she dies. If that happens, then I have a great idea for a poster.

A bloody gun with a broken picture frame next to it.

Also, can we switch Amy Adams with Charlie Theron just because I get a picture of Renner and Theron together?
