Channing Tatum is Magic Mike

Hey, he deserved everything he got when it came to Battleship, but he got shafted when it came to John Carter.

Shafted? How so? He was bland and wooden as hell in that movie. The script didn't do him any favors, but an actor with some charisma could have brought that movie to life a lot more than he did.

I think he definitely could've brought alot more to the table, but I don't think he was as bad as people say. Plus there were other factors in that movie being a dud.

And let's not forget... this time last year, people around these parts were talking crazy amount of **** about Tatum too. But now he's found his niche with 21 Jump Street and this. Kitsch needs to find his niche. Frankly, I think he found it a long time ago: TV. His work on FNL was much better than what he's doing now. Drop the blockbuster leading man act and accept that you're an ensemble television guy, Kitsch. We'll all be better for it.

Yeah, that probably is true. While I admire actors who challenge themselves, they also have to know their limitations, or work with directors who can bring out the best in them. Maybe Kitsch will evolve into a solid movie actor eventually (I think Savages is supposed to be good, but it still doesn't interest me) but he should avoid trying to be the lead... and at this point, he might not even have that choice for a while.

Well, I personally didn't like Tatum much either- in fact... I despised him. But I've to say... 21st Jump Street... The Vow... he is growing on me. Maybe his acting's getting better... maybe the roles now are suited to him... I dunno.

Just saw this. It was pretty good. I liked all of the performances but I felt Bomer, Rodriguez, Manganiello, and Nash really didnt have that much to do. i know the story was more about Mike and Adam but i wouldve liked a little more from them.

The dance numbers I thought were cool most of the time

But I have to give props to Alex Pettyfer. I didnt like him in In Time or in I Am Number Four. But he was really good in this I thought. Especially his last scene with Mike, he played smarmy, *****ey so well that i Cant believe that all those rumors of him being a jerk on different sets are just rumors. Tatum impressed me again after 21 Jump Street. Mcconaughey impressed me too after his great role in Lincoln Lawyer.

Some bad things:
I think the only actor i didnt really like was Cody Horn. Because she was so blah. It was funny for 2/3. Once the drugs were introduced it was good, but i really felt duped by the marketing. Also I didnt like the ending. I know it was supposed to be bittersweet, but I dont think they pulled it off.

7/10

Are they really working on a sequel?

Sequel is being worked on yeah, though I doubt Pettyfer will be asked to return; he and Tatum apparently clashed a lot on set.

yeah I heard the same thing. Heard same thing happened on I am Number Four set too

Yep. Pettyfer is sexy, and he's an alright actor, but not good enough in either department to be a diva.

if they're doing a sequel can they please do something with all the random unfinished plots that didn't really go anywhere?

Maybe, maybe not. I'm just hoping for full on performances and less teases. :o

Well yeah of course i want those. can we get more solo Bomer shots?

but at least make some kind of cohesion in the plot if it's going to be a movie. otherwise i want a 90 minute strip show lol

I have the best Hype-inappropriate gif of Bomer. :atp:

And yes, I want the next one to be more like Full Monty or Showgirls, and less indie drama.

that gif should come to my PM box.

i haven't seen either of those movies :/

:wow:

You must watch Showgirls at least twice a month; one being the censored tv version, the other being the theatrical version. :o

It's been a while since I've seen Full Monty, but it's total comedy, it has a plot, but doesn't try to be dark about it, it knows what kind of movie it is. :cwink:
