Children see Saw 3D By Mistake

Oh i like the title card, it makes the film that bit more exciting when you see words such as 'The Dark Knight 12A'

I'm sorry for everyone upset and traumatized by this, but I can't help but find the image of a hundred kids screaming as a buzz saw tears into a woman on a huge theater screen entertaining.

And everyone is like ''Shhh, shhhh, it's starting.''

Lol yeah, thats usually me saying that because i get the french man behind me, who seems to think its ok to let his wife know whats happening a little too loudly.

Just curious....wouldn't Saw have come with some R rated previews? You'd think the parents would find something amiss when there were previews for R rated movies before their showing of Megamind...

I don't know, when I was a kid and went to the local playpark all the see saws were 3 dimensional in construction, so I don't know why this would be a mistake, any 2 dimensional constuction of such a device would surely create sharp edges that might damage their wee backsides when the device touched the ground.

:awesome:

Who is AllyBabble and why is he so flipping outrageously dumb, yet amazing at the same time? :awesome:

It might have been at a theater that forgoes previews altogether.

HAAHAHAHAHAHAAHA !! xD

Hey, I was shown a million scary/gory movies as a young child and I turned out just fine. Pfft, kids today are lame.
I was watching Friday the 13th, (the original), Nightmare on Elm St., BEFORE I was 10.

That's nice and all, but those aren't that bloody (the original Friday) and Nightmare's blood is extremely fake.

All '80s horror blood was extremely fake... but they still trump all of the Saw movies... easily.

Yeah same, I watched so many bloody + scary movies when I was very young. My favorite (although not very scary) was "IT"... hmm. I have always liked clowns.

One: How does a mistake like this happen?

Movies come to theaters on giant reels of film in silver containers that are only labeled with a sticker. It would be easy for the lables to get mixed up.

Two: What were the parents doing?

No idea. Probably complaining.

Three: Aren't the theater employees able to, I dunno, STOP the movie?

Stopping the projector once it's started, as well as changing the reels, is actually a pretty involved process. They set up is kind of complicated.

See, these wee faces you and knowsbleed have posted are the positive reactions kids normally get from the traditional 3D see saws:
:awesome: <Wheeeeeeeeee, me on da see-saw mammy!)

Whereas these new fangled slick 2D see saws only produce:
:cmad: <Aaaargh...me no like being on tha see saw mammy, take me off the see saw mammy! )

No rectangular pieces of cardboard lying around?

Real D has recently become self aware. This is only the beginning.

Awesome story on todays yahoo news-

Families taking their children to see animated hit 'Megamind' in a US cinema were given a nasty shock when 'Saw 3D' was accidentally screened instead.
A theatre in Massachusetts unfortunately played the brutal horror film instead of the animated adventure, leaving kids screaming at the screen. The children were told to cover their eyes as cinema bosses tried to correct their mistake.

This is the part that somewhat confuses me. The parents have every right to be upset but didn't they realize something was wrong within about 10 seconds of the movie starting? An animated flick and a horror movie both have very different introductions and feels, not to mention that SAW is live action.

That's my question too, how could they not see that it was the wrong film and immedietly take their children out of the theatre.

And I feel bad for those kids because that woman being killed by a buzz saw sounds pretty graphic.

The THING dog scene. I could not eat beef for a few days after it. I was gonna eat a cheeseburger...that scene came up....good lord. Awesome old school effects!

"Daddy, why is that lady so close to that saw?"

"I don't know Billy, lets watch and see where this goes."

Why didn't they leave when they realized it wasn't Megamind? Why would you stay in the theater watching that?
