No s*** China's a capitalist country now , but there's the fact that the People's Republic of China is still their official name , the Communist party is still in charge and their pretty much a dictatorship is why I still call them commies.

Back in 2007 the Chinese National Offshore Oil Corp had signed a deal with Somali President Abdullahi Yusuf to explore the northern Puntland region for oil, but it's doubtful that much came from that with all of the political infighting in the Somali government.

It seems like the world will never cease to screw over Africa. First it was the Middle East, then it was Europe and America, and now it's China's turn. People are not going to stop trying to pillage and plunder that continent until there's nothing left to take.

China has a s*** load of separatist groups and terrorist groups they deal with on a daily basis in their country. You think a group of Somali terrorist are going to bother them ?

They could always make those terror groups in Somalia disappear. Still though, I don't think the Chinese will even consider going there until things are more stable.

China could do that , but they won't. It'll make them look pretty horrible in the eyes of the world if large numbers of women and children died while eliminating the terror groups , warlords and pirates.

China doesn't give a s*** when it comes down to what happens in it's own borders because they can easily censor what gets sent out. You remember that huge riot in Tibet a month or two before the Beijing Olympics ? Usually they would've sent troops there and slaughtered everyone there. The reason why they didn't was because they didn't want people thinking China kills women and children. China's an emerging super power so why would they want potential trading partners and current trading partners to start boycotting them ?

That's the reason why our government (for the most part) is making nice with the Chinese.

Usually when you boycott someone, you want to have some kind of leverage. In the instance of America to China: this is the equivalent of the cook boycotting the only farmer.

From a economic and technical POV, American needs China more than China needs America at this point. America mortgaged off the entire manufacturing and earning of future generations to China. Especially recently the bailout blackhole of a money pit, and the stimulus that managed to have a negative GDP multiplier output. Or in other words, every dollar America spends in borrowed Chinese/Saudi/Japanese money (stimulus), it gets a 0.81 return or a 20 cent lose. So on top of losing economic output you have "interest" on the debt to payoff. That's the stimulus spending that was "supposed" to give you a 1.4 multiplier. Funny how reality trumps theory.

All America has is its military and that depends on the health of the economy to sustain tax revenue.

Europe is a joke now, it's in just as much if not more debt.

Besides China doesn't want to run Africa, it just wants to milk it of its resources and throw it under the bus to rot when it is done. But hey maybe that is step up from being white rule.

If China is willing to fund these governments (which are corrupt in most instances) then hell yeah the governments will be happy to take their money.

The African leaders see China as the polar opposites of the Europeans. I still believe though that Chinese involvement in Africa will end up like the Portuguese colonization of Africa: violent and bloody, instead of the English or French where they left peacefully.
