Thought I'd make a place for those who believe in God to get together, and maybe share why they believe, any songs that are uplifting, or speakers that have a message that really speaks to them.

Totally not a good idea dude. Not only is this gonna turn as ugly as the higher power thread once the non-believers start to arrive to voice their own opinion, but it's also going to turn into a debate between believers that decide to compare and criticize what other believe.

Well, since you bring it up, Siegel and Schuster have said that they used Jesus as a model for a lot of Superman's traits. In their original origin story, it wasn't Jonathan and Martha that find him, it was Mary and Joseph. I got a book on the subject. Very neat to read.

It's not a rip off. It's an homage. there's a difference.

Probably the most striking parallel is evident in the relationship between the character of Superman and his father. ? In 1942 author of the first Superman novel, The Adventures of Superman, George Lowther, changes the name of Superman, Kal-L, to &#8220;Kal-El&#8221; and Superman&#8217;s father, Jor-L, to &#8220;Jor-El.&#8221; It sounds similar, but what is the significance? The word &#8220;El&#8221; in Hebrew means &#8220;God.&#8221; So the significance in the story of Superman is how &#8220;El&#8221; (God) the father sends &#8220;El&#8221; (God) the son to earth. Sound familiar?
