Cold Pursuit (Liam Neeson)

Saw the latest trailer in front of my screening of Aquaman on Monday eve and looked a 'lively' little picture, fun and of quality of recent Neeson fare. Worth a consideration I think....

It sounds like this will definitely be one of the films worth seeing next month. It's honestly my most anticipated movie right now.

I highly recommend the original version. Excellent stuff. It's got a similar pitch black sense of humor to something like IN BRUGES.

I shouldn't be surprised since the trailer for this made me chuckle in that very way. This is from the same director as the original i hear.

Given Liam Neeson's bizarre confession I imagine this is going to sink without trace.

Lol, you mean after hearing about his own personal "cold pursuit". I didn't see the movie doing that well anyway, but that's just because I wasn't interested to begin with.

I was just thinking that I wasn't going to see the movie, but, I was NEVER going to see the movie.

I don’t think that is going to affect it.

well he he was just going to be asked about it on the red carpet.
Not a good image for the movie.

“The latest Liam Neeson revenge fantasy simply makes no sense even before you get to the tedious action, undeveloped characters, and stubborn racism and sexism. A rancid excuse for a thriller. 0/5”

I made the mistake of going to the reviewer's twitter. Needless to say, I'm really not surprised she gave it a 0/5.

I'll post my full review later but this was the best black comedy I've seen in a while and it's the best Liam Neeson film in years.

I consider myself pretty flexible, game, and forgiving towards any given movie. This? This flew right the **** over my head. Really did not care for it.

It's an entertaining flick, but I had the same problems with this that I had with Widows in that because their are so many characters the focus is not nearly enough on Neeson as it should be and that definitely hurt the film for me. Not that I actually minded most of them like William Forsythe, Domenick Lombardozzi, and some of the members of the Indian gang like Tom Jackson and Raol Trujillo, but did we really need to spend so much time with Emmy Rossum's character and her partner and what was up with Laura Dern being in this for like 5 minutes and just completely dissapearing to never be heard from again lol. I don't know maybe I missed something and the director was going for something else, but I just found it weird. Also, the dude who played the villain in this was such a joke, but even I have to admit that he had some pretty funny lines and I loved his kid in this who almost stole the whole movie IMO. It's well directed and I really liked the use of the Canadian location, and while I get that its supposed to be more of a dark comedy I wanted to see way more of Neeson ****ing up bad guys than what I got.

7/10

You mean since 2018's Widows?

Was that supposed to be great? I watched it the other night and thought it was an average, run of the mill crime flick and it wasn't a Liam Neeson movie, he had about 3 or 4 small scenes and as many lines, it was a Viola Davis movie with strong support from Elizabeth Debicki.

If that's what Kane was implying I guess I misunderstood. Of course Neeson was not a lead in Widows, I was merely stating it was a recent film that he did that I enjoyed.

Solid, entertaining flick. Like others have mentioned, has a McDonagh-esque vibe, though I'd say more John Michael than Martin.

EDIT:
Come to think of it, I want to see Neeson in a Martin McDonagh flick. Rossum too, she seems like she'd fit that vibe.
