Anyone seen Brand New this year? I'm curious to see what their new show is like.
Easily my fav band, and i drove down to Austin to see them last time because the Fort Worth show was sold out. Its a great show, as always. Real personality as a live band.
Light summer for me, only going to Velvet Revolver, (holding out hope that AiC will open at that show) but in the Spring I went to Eric Clapton...There are alot of good concerts going on this summer, and so I have made this thread to ask the question: What concerts are going to (or have you gone to) this summer? Or even what has been your favorite concert so far? Discuss....
For me, I am going to a Reel Big Fish/ Streetlight Manifesto Concert this Thursday in NYC, and later on this month Im going to two 311/Matisyahu concerts back to back (one at Jones Beach and one in NJ) Which should be pretty sick since this might be 311's last Unity tour...

You do win. I' m dying to see Wolfmother live... if only they'd come to the northeast some time soon.
ROCK THE BELLS!
Rage Against the Machine and Wu-Tang Clan headlining...featuring guests like MF Doom, Sage Francis, Living Legends, Hieroglyphics, Def Jux, Rhymesayers and a bunch more!

I saw Jonny Lang Monday night at the Birchmere. Damn fine show.
I wanted to see Gorgo Bordello tonight at the 9:30 Club but I waited too late and they sold out. I think I would've bee too tired any way.![]()
I went to see Tool June 1st.
It wasn't that great, even though I think they're a great band.
There were a lot of bad points including:
- Too much smoke. Just about everyone was smoking and dry ice was everywhere.
- Bad sound quality. The sound system was giving too much emphasis on some instruments and not enough on others.
- Maynard. Didn't face the audience, didn't sing loud enough, and didn't finish a few songs.
- Overly fanatic fans. I must've heard, "TOOOOOOOOOOL!" one hundred times.
- People singing OVER Maynard. I'd rather hear the actual singer.
- The group I went with would not stop talking to me no matter how much the music drowned them out.
Maybe I'm just not one for stadium shows?
I was going to go to the Reel Big Fish/Streetlight Manifesto, but I decided it'd be too much of a hassle getting transportation (I don't drive yet.).
why would you want the band to sound exactly like their CD's live? instead of paying to see them, why not just listen to the CD?I'd have to say that Bullet For My Valentine has the best concert I've ever seen. They sound EXACTLY like their CDs.
Maynard hates his fans. its pretty obvious, look at the bands name. he wants you to buy the t shirts and the cds and the stickers to make his bank account bigger while labeling his fans.. think about it.
