AN OLD FRIEND CALLS FOR JOHN'S HELP WHEN AN ANCIENT EVIL SURFACES IN MEXICO - CLAIRE VAN DER BOOM GUEST STARS -- A call from Anne Marie (guest star Claire van der Boom), a member of the fateful Newcastle crew, sends John (Matt Ryan) and Chas (Charles Halford) to Mexico City and brings them closer to the source of The Rising Darkness. Meanwhile, Zed's (Angélica Celaya) past comes back to haunt her.

Episode 8 "The Saint of Last Resorts"
Enjoyed Zed exploring the house. They nailed the atmosphere of the creepy convent. Nice to see Jose Pablo Cantillo who played Martinez in The Walking Dead show up as Hugo. I like how Annie called John on his ruse even name dropping Gary Lester. I thought the Invuche at the end looked pretty good. Great cliffhangers.

hnng, I can't handle how hot Zed's actress is. Double Hnng.

yeah I'm really enjoying Angelica Celaya in this series.

Well, damn!

I foresaw, [BLACKOUT]Zed getting taken[/BLACKOUT] but not [BLACKOUT]Anne Marie shooting John[/BLACKOUT]

Nice cliff hanger and it was great to see another member of the Newcastle Crew.

I noticed Anne-Marie didn't mention Benjamin Cox when see listed the crew. I guess they left his character out because what happened to him isn't network TV friendly.

The actress playing Anne-Marie looked a bit too young to of introduced a 15 year old Constantine to occult circles.

I guess they ditched Anne-Marie's physic powers as Zed sort of has those powers on the show.

Cool to see Brujería and Invunche which for you non-comic fans featured here

The Mill Of Solitude/Cave lock up/Mill Of Mystery is serious business.I knew when they showed that doorway to nowhere someone was going through it.

I still think this show relies too much on magic artefacts rather than John's wits. Do the show writers think audiences aren't smart enough to follow John's scheming plots?

I will Nerd out if John gets a blood transfusion from Nergal.

Possibly their best episode. That thing in the sewer was weird and terrifying.

Or the the actual thing in mythology. ^^ http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Imbunche Quite some twisted **** there ^^ "According to legend, the invunche was a first-born son, that had not become nine days old, that was kidnapped, or sold by his parents to a Brujo Chilote (a type of sorcerer or warlock of Chiloé). If the baby had been christened, the warlock would debaptize him. The Brujo transformed the child into a deformed hairy monster by breaking his right leg and twisting it over his back. When the boy was three months old then his tongue was forked and the warlock would apply a magic cream over the boy's back to cause thick hairs. During its first months the invunche was fed on black cat's milk and goat flesh,[1] and then with human flesh from cemeteries."

best episode so far

the show has really started to find its stride. the idiot higher ups at NBC better not pull the plug

It was a good episode, perhaps best one yet.

He's the one that was raped by Nergal right?

It's been a while since I read Hellblazer.

I agree. And I believe it's more that writers aren't smart enough to do so.

And John has to get blood transfusion from Nergal at some point for sure. I was expecting him to get it by now as I hoped
they'll kill Zed by the end of the season. Now I'm not sure it's happening, since Zed is kidnapped, John doesn't have demon blood yet and the two of them didn't have sex.
I'm very curious to see how will "resurrection crusade" story play out in the show.

I still hope that by the end of the season it'll be:

Amazing episode.

And 2nd the hotness of Zed. Jesus.

I'm surprised they showed Zed's thong in the one scene lmao.
Looked tacky.

Great episode overall though, can't wait to see what happens, can anyone give me a bit of background of the Brujo? The sorcerer's or what ever they are talking about?

:funny: What's with all the "Zed is hot" all of a sudden? I don't recall seeing anything that makes her particularly more hot in this episode than any of the previous ones.

Actually, only thing that this episode proved to me is that actress playing her is really bad.

Another reason for me to want her gone by the end of the season.
