Cops Shoot Unarmed Black Man Laying On The Ground

So now they are claiming they accidentally shot Kinsey while trying to shoot his patient because they thought Kinsey was in danger...

So basically "We're not violently racist, just horribly incompetent".

I'm sure that'll make the community feel safer. :o

Right...they accidentally shot Kinsey because they thought he was in danger.

Why'd they handcuff him then? Was he a danger to himself as well?

Those cops cant spin their way out of this one.

I don't even know what to say. I mean is their excuse really that they meant to shoot the unarmed autistic patient instead of the unarmed black man, like that's better?

And people will believe that ****. That is the scary and sad thing. It is why this crap continues.

After being shot he was apparently handcuffed for twenty minutes.

It doesn't sound like he was officially arrested either so they may have detaining him without charge and not read him his rights as well. Doesn't sound legal.

A witness at the scene also said he told an officer that the man had a toy truck but they ignored him. So Kinsey and a witness both tell them that the autistic guy has a toy and they still shoot.

From the autistic man's sister:

"All I hear from the news is how my brother was holding a gun; He wasn't. How my brother was blocking traffic; He wasn't. How my brother ran away from the group home; he didn't. How my brother was suicidal; how ignorant! He wasn't. He was walking with his caregiver. With his toy truck.

Now I hear the police saying how they wanted to shoot my brother and not Mr.Charles. As if THAT makes the whole situation better. And if that was the case, how come they handcuffed Mr.Charles while he was bleeding from the bullet wound? Also handcuffed my brother. Leaving my brother inside the police car for 4 hours despite all the staff members from the group home informing the police that Arnaldo was Autistic. Instead they just read the "rights" to him.

Now Arnaldo is in Aventura Hospital in the Behavioral Unit. He keeps having frequent episodes of screaming, intense fear and flailing while still asleep. Asking for Charles, crying. He wasn't eating and he was anxious. Being easily startled or frightened. How can we explain to him what happened? He doesn't have the capacity to comprehend the gravity of the situation. He has no sense of what danger is! But he understands someone got hurt. He understands Mr.Charles got hurt. Why? Because he kept saying to my mom:"Blood oh no Charles, blood!"In a desperate atempt to explain what he went through. What he witnessed.

In the end I just hope Mr. Charles recovers quickly and stays safe. Him and his family have gone through enough as well. Praying for everything to be settled appropriately.

I also hope Arnaldo heals and forgets what happened quickly. And that my mother can actually have some peace of mind. Even though she is still mortified, perplexed, angry and appalled.

I'm just tired.

But this isn't over."

The cops really have no excuse. The unarmed man who was in the surrender position explained everything to them. He was being heroic helping a helpless autistic person in a dangerous situation.

They still shot him.

There was literally nothing he could've done to avoid getting shot.

So when people wonder why we need a BlackLivesMatter, this is the reason.

Point goes to the protesters on this one. Trigger happy idiot, racist cop should be fired ASAP.

There's a reason they shoot to kill. Things would've been easier for the cop if Kinsey had died.

I'm not sure it's the racism that usually gets their attention since the cop in this case was Hispanic. Still a bad shoot on the officer's part. The video makes it clear that the cops were just not listening to the counselor.

1. where does this idea come from that hispanics can't be racist?

2. LE as an institution has historically dealt with POC in a harsh way regardless of who is in the uniform.

How many black or POC police have we seen pummelling white women in the face repeatedly?

how many black cops have slammed teenage white girls on the ground put both knees in their back?

if black cops did this to white suspects there would be a reckoning on a national level the likes you haven't seen since the race riots of the early 20th century.

Pretty sure this one is the most damning of all the recent happenings and really not excusable.

Those people are resisting arrest it looks like. They have to get them on the ground and hands behind their back. If you are belligerent and ignoring their commands...and physically resisting or fighting back...you're going to get body slammed.

so your okay with a cop doing that to your 15 year old daughter in a bikini?

what was he arresting a kid for? it was a pool party. what she didn't move fast enough when he said move? Thats arrest worthy?

Thats enough cause to twist her arm, stick her face in the dirt and put both knees in her back...a kid..you don't think thats excessive at all in any way shape or form?

You do know that if you punch someone in the face their hands go up automatically..its a natural defensive response, to call that resisting arrest is freaking stupid. What happened to cops being "trained" to de-escalate a situation?

I'd LOVE to see footage of black cops doing that to white suspects just to see how consistent people would be in their belief that the cops are always right.
