Corona and other diseases

There's over 180 cases where I am and rising every day. :( I'll be indoors for the next few years.

Also apparently a quarter of the world's population is now in lockdown.
It should be higher. Last night Racheal Maddow bemoaned the fact that only 38 states had lockdowns in place when it should be everywhere. Can't contain this unless everyone is on the same page.

Looks like Spain is having another very tough day. :csad:

Oh damn, that’s terrible. :csad::csad:

Jackson Browne tested positive as well. I hate to say it but the list of celebs we lost this year is going to be long and painful. :(

I really don’t understand this strategy.

Boris (UK PM) has put the UK into a half assed lockdown, because the general population don't understand what social distancing is. We've got some good weather here at the moment, and this previous weekend people flocked to beaches, ice cream parlours and picnic areas.

This week he's initiated a lockdown, seemingly to enforce that only the essential people go to work. I interpreted that was people working for the emergency services, power stations, water works, and gas/electric providers, in addition to supermarket staff and some teachers (for key worker parents).

I work in a factory (for the oil and gas industry, but we don't supply oil and gas). I wouldn't have said we're essential to the safety of the country, and yet our manager has stated that so long as our customers are asking for our products, we're sticking it out. We just can't win when you've got idiots like this not listening to the government. All our managers see are money signs.

If your type of business/job isn't listed on the link @Dark Raven provided, I think it's up to your manager(s)/owner(s) discretion/common sense if they remain open. My understanding off it is factories are a bit of a gray area because there are some that would be fine to remain operational even if they aren't providing something 'essential' and there are others that won't be.

The social distancing however can't be ignored, if you work in a crowded environment or in close proximity with other people, you'd be well within your right to refuse to work until it's addressed. If your place of work has a Union, they should be forcing your employer to take some sort of action & protect the staff.

I'm lucky that my employer chose to close before the state lockdown went in place. It's nice to know they cared enough to keep us safe. :)

I don't mind non-essential businesses staying open as long as they've put changes in place that respect the social distancing & overcrowding rules. If it isn't possible for them to do that, then they should be closed.

At this point it's fair to say this virus is just saying **** you to humanity. And if we follow protocol we can say it back.

And most of humanity are saying to go ahead but first let us party and live life because we have freedom rights

Yeah, same here. We’ve been surprisingly designated as essential but nearly everyone was already working from home from this Monday with many more with home setups already good enough starting much earlier. I’ve been doing it for a few weeks now. It’s not ideal for work but it is the right thing to do.

In addition to no healthcare, he should have his tongue removed as well. Also he should be blacklisted everywhere.
Imagine you were an employer and got an application from this guy and the first thing you found when you googled him was that!

This is terribly scary and I hope it’s not accurate:

I'd say it's true. Other recent polls show that the people most likely to wash their hands and stay in quaranteen are dems and those less likely to wash and stay quarenteened are repubs.

This is one of those things where I just can’t wrap my head around how they’d believe him the most. And yet, like what you said, it’s totally true. I have a relative who’s shrugging this all off and she’s a Republican. She’s also excited to finally be able to go to mass again this Easter Sunday. She’s a smart person and it seems she’s now thrown logic to the wind. It hurts.

The British are doing better then us, but not by much. It is never good when Piers Morgan is completely right.

Politics and religions are **** stains of humanity
