Corona and other diseases

In a thousand years there will be aliens visiting to look at this lost civilization of humanity. They will all wonder, why did they need so much toilet paper?

Legacy of human beings.

It's already a cesspool of sloppy seconds bacteria as it is.

Is there a quarantine in part of new york?

What happens if this is like a cold and there is no cure?

I see one source say there's reason to believe the death rate is lower because there's lots of unknown cases that aren't being counted, I see another saying from studying the outbreak in China there's reason to believe there's actually NOT this massive load of extra unknown cases, then someone else who says there's already thousands upon thousands upon thousands of unknown infections in the US.

So which ****ing one is it, then?

Also there's 10,000 clickbaity headlines out there running the gamut from "Coronavirus: Why It's Not Going To Be As Bad As You Think" to "Why We Are All Going To Die". A little hyperbolic paraphrasing on my part, but captures the gists they give off.

We'll never know the truth. Patient zero is probably long dead.

We'll never know the truth.

If it peaks and declines and we're having a normal presidential election in November, or if we're living in a post-apocalyptic hellscape where the health care system collapsed and society and government fell apart, I guess we will.

Coronavirus is in Iowa now, so.....looks like I'm going to be on here a lot because I'm probably not going to be able to leave the house for awhile. So....hello fellow kids!

It's already here in southern and northern Indiana, they basically got us trapped at both ends.

This happened 5 blocks from me.

My friend said it was a dispute over the prices for masks.

God, we can't go anywhere without hearing about this crap, can we? Even my comic forum isn't safe....

(note: I know religion and differing opinions on religion can be a touchy subject on message boards, bringing this up simply to point out another way that COVID-19 is affecting regular ways of life)

Affecting religious gatherings as well. For any LDS/Mormon members on the board (or those familiar with the religion), our April General Conference (where we hear from our church leadership) for the general public will be via broadcast (radio/tv/online streaming) only. General public won't be allowed in the conference center (they had already put out a couple weeks ago that any international members should refrain from traveling to Utah for conference).

To give some comparison, October 1957 was the last time conference sessions were so seriously affected (in that instance, conference was actually full on cancelled due to a flu-epidemic happening). The last time conference was held but the general public was 'not invited' was April 1942 due to "conditions incident to War emergency". However that conference was still broadcast to the public via Radio.
