It seems like I won’t be getting a second dose of the Pfizer vaccine as my provincial government has made the dumb choice of waiting four months between the two doses, so they can give them to more people. No other country is doing this.

Sounds like a really risky gamble, and I am feeling a strong mix of anger and fear, especially with the variants. Hope my appointment for the second dose won’t be cancelled.

Sorry, man. Hope the one shot is enough to keep you safe.

Agreed, especially when the vaccines are relatively new. Would not be surprised if other countries did it eventually.

The thing is, it is a measure for when you are low on vaccines. With more vaccines hitting the market, it shouldn't be an issue.

Well, my state the current eligible age group is 50+ (which I am not part of of), but they've also opened it to those 16 or older that have one of the high risk conditions listed on the state website, one of those is if you have a BMI of 30+ (which, alas, I fall into)... so I have scheduled my appointment for next week (for the 1st dose if I end up with the Pfizer or Moderna, which are the two that have been getting offered in my state, don't know if the one dose J&J is part of my state's mix yet). So we'll see how things go.

Well they did say it doesn't necessarily keep you from contracting it, just from severe illness and death, and apparently his symptoms are minor and cold-like.

In other news, apparently there's money in the new bill they just passed for OSHA to make new rules pertaining to COVID and mandating mask-wearing in all businesses as a safety hazard, no matter whether state governors have mask mandates or not. That would be a relief if true. Know anything about this, @Lily Adler ?

Ohio here, what the hell are people going around not wearing masks??? at work last weekend I saw almost 40+ people walking around, some gave me a look like they wanted me to say something or do something but since I'm not the owner of the building and just working there I kept my silence, I do wear 2 masks now and a face shield
