Corona and other diseases

There are dumb people in every country.
When I was in London with the missus a couple of weekends ago, there was a large “anti vaccination” rally at Trafalgar Square.
Luckily, it did not affect our day out. Despite it being fairly close to where we were…

The vaccine hesitant and the anti vaxxer movements are incredibly strong at the moment. Despite it being 2021, there are so many who clearly believe more and more crap useless superstitions than actual science that is saving us. It’s astonishing.

I am in a high vaccinated area and despite this there are so so many young folks without any masks walking around indoors and in close groups/crowds outdoors too. There’s just no common sense. Our entire vaccine progress is being undone before our very eyes..
I feel the same. Its shocking how few seem to be taking this seriously. :(

"Stupidity has no borders".

My question is basically (to everyone) "How prevalent are the anti-vax movements in your country?" In the US, it seems to be that about 1/3 of the populace won't get vaccinated. As @Kahran Ramsus asked (paraphrased) "How prevalent is this in other countries?" It's an important question because we have international travel, commerce, production, etc.

Some major articles are pointing out that a next bigger pandemic could come in 2028.. we must not live so that fear completely consumes us but let us all prepare. I can say I am so happy and proud of all of you taking such amazing safety measures for you and your loved ones. It’s inspiring. It is humbling to be interacting with such educated, aware and science minded common sense folks here who I know take necessary measures for now and will do so for the future pandemics headed our way

And watch our infection rates go through the roof...
I only hope that enough vaccinations have been done to keep the hospitalisations and deaths low...

Can't read the article because of paywall but this probably not as big of deal as they are making it. The annual flu shot has a minuscule of Guillain-Barre so I would have just assumed this was the case for the Covid vaccine as well. Ultimately, this article will have the right-wing faction saying that "OMG...everybody is going to get Guillain-barre."

Has it become a part of the platform of one of the UK's major political parties though?

This hasn’t really happened in the Uk because all the major parties are “following the science” as far as we know… but there is a growing cesspit of antis, conspiracists etc… who are trying to politicise things and from what I’ve seen they are all generally on the right hand side of politics

Just about anything has some side effects. In the US, I think the mortality rate from COVID is in the 2% (2 in 100) range. The side effects I'm reading about are in the .000X% (1s in million) range.

Yeah there was a big one near me too. Some were being nasty as they walked past NHS workers.

Anyone else noticed how this is page 666 and Covid cases are worse than ever?
No? Just me then… :hehe:
