Because people who get vaccinated are also more likely to take other precautions like wearing masks and avoiding dangerous situations. Probably applicable to previous strains, but I'm not so sure about Omicron. It spreads so easily and quickly, that these precautions probably aren't doing too much to prevent you from getting it. Which if true, would confirm how effective the vaccines are.

I get really sick of people pointing out that people who are vaccinated can get COVID.....uh, yeah, we know. Being unvaccinated and unmasked exacerbates a public health problem and those people who don't get vaccinated run a much, much higher risk of being hospitalized and dying. You are more likely to transmit the virus if you don't follow protocols. That is a fact. If you think this is a personal decision and decide to not get vaccinated or wear a mask as suggested, then perhaps you won't take up a hospital bed if you get really sick or will isolate yourself from those you might harm. If so, great. If not, you are impinging on the health and safety of others.

I'd like to mention one thing I get sick of is people going on about natural immunity and using it as an excuse to not get vaccinated. Natural immunity wanes overtime as there have been numerous articles about people catching Covid more than once. And even if the first time someone catches Covid and their symptoms are mild, there's no guarantee that their symptoms the second time will also be mild and won't land them in the ICU.

Finally got my booster shot today. I took the Moderna this time around instead of the Pfizer like I did for my first two doses. Pharmacist said I might experience feeling some chills and some dizziness but so far I feel pretty okay.

My understanding is that the first two Moderna shots contain 100 micrograms (each) of the "active ingredient" (whatever that is ). And the booster has 50 micrograms. By contrast, Pfizer uses 30 micrograms for all three doses. So you got extra “stuff” by switching.

I remember some were saying last year that smokers and vapers are less likely to get covid because their lungs are coated in chemicals that the virus can't tolerate.

So lately my thoughts have been consumed with this whole getting myocarditis from covid, or the vaccine (albeit extremely rare from the vaccine). Now after all of my doses of the vaccine, I felt fine. Surely nothing wrong with my heart. Pretty sure...

But after catching Covid, now I'm concerned. Granted I haven't felt any of the symptoms. But I've read being asymptomatic (like I was) doesn't mean you can't develop myocarditis. So I guess I'm just racking my brain over whether or not I could get it. I have a physical on Jan 31st. But I'm thinking to make an appointment before then. I don't know. I can't seem to get a moment's peace mentally with all the worrying I'm doing.

Rogan is a very odd fellow. To be sure, he’s given a platform to many quacks. But weirdly, he’s also hosted a good number of respectable scientists. E.g., Neil deGrasse Tyson, Brian Cox, Lawrence Krauss, Richard Dawkins, Brian Greene, Sean Carroll, Robert Sapolsky, Steven Pinker, etc. And with regard to COVID, specifically, he’s interviewed MDs Sanja Gupta and Peter Hotez. I’ve never heard/seen a single episode of Rush Limbaugh or Alex Jones. But I’d be surprised if they had as many (or any!) pro-science/pro-rationality guests.
