Corona and other diseases

I’ll never understand people’s love for Salt and Vinegar chips. Bleh

Truly heartbreaking. Mental health is gonna be its own epidemic well after we defeat this virus, I fear.

I'm skeptical the virus will ever be truly defeated . I think the goal will ultimately end up being treatment, containment, and understanding. Certainly, I think the way people operate in the public space will change.

Butt I agree, mental health will likely be its own epidemic. Those who underestimate or dismiss the mental well being of people being isolated for months on end ,for whatever rationale, do so foolishly at their own peril imo.

I deal with mental health issues. Being stuck inside, while trying to deal with my family and not having a lot of my usual outlets have already lead to some bad nights. This situation is definitely going to push those issues to the forefront for many of us. But mental health is already it's own epidemic, and it is because our government and society have never taken it seriously. Much like with the other health issues involved with this pandemic, we are not prepared for this.

Yeah it didn't help that there were people who felt depression was a myth or just a rich person's disease. I had severe depression in high school and my family didn't take it seriously. They thought it was a phase in my teens. Luckily I had friends who kept it from getting worse.

Thank the Maker for your friends. The world needs you LL.

Aw thank you and you stay strong there are people here that will be there for you... Provided they don't shut the site down for maintenance again. :hehe:

It's also why I think I came to this site. Comics, video games, and all things nerd interest me before I got hit by depression and in a way I thought it could make me happy. It certainly helped, but mainly cause I can now communicate with people who have similar interests. I guess that's the positive side of social media.

There are a few. Social media shows us so much of the bad, but our little community here has definitely helped me. Heck, this situation right here. Having a place where I can read about and discuss the outbreak. Invaluable at times like this.

This is cool:

These are the moments that make me realize Dolores might not be right about all of mankind. Both the home owner's generosity, and the delivery man not turning this into a bonanza. Good people.

Well, he's Asian so his opinion won't count as far as Trump is concerned.

So apparently Abbott is taking a hands off approach and letting the counties decide if a shutdown is necessary here in Texas.

Noooo....I can’t make it through this self-isolation without my sour cream & cheddar! :o

FC you are a marvelous human being. Few if any could be considered on par or better. That said, your taste in chips is just disgusting.

I'm going to have to seriously reconsider my idolatry. Please recant and tell me you recognize the objective truth of the superiority of chips with salt and pepper.

I wonder just how much cheddar and sour cream are in those "chips".....a word to the wise.....if you like something, don't read the ingredients....:cwink:

Salt & pepper?! I feel like I don't even know you anymore.

And ha, jokes on you, I never read ingredients on anything!!!

Well I'm screwed as a Texan
Depends on your county. Mine is not on full shutdown yet. Schools are still planning to open in April. I only know of 3 districts that are closing for the rest of the school year.

This thread is incredibly difficult to keep up with, I thought I was reading new posts & then came across my own replies on the pages I thought I'd missed :D

Got a call from my boss, I'm officially out of work until May 4th. The reason for it sucks, but I'm happy to have the time free. :)
Catch up on some movies or series.

I guess that makes you wise. Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm going to eat some REAL chips, thin slices of cheddar cheese, and dip them in some sour cream. :oldrazz:

Love ya. You're the best.

Mine is for another week as of now but the governor is an idiot and don't think it's wise for counties to decide for themselves than working together as state
