They were told on Thursday it would open on Friday. How did so many assemble there in 26 minutes? It's like everyone was camping out waiting for it to reopen.
The only lives that matter to rich Republicans are rich Republicans. So that means we’re just an acceptable risk?
I know that’s not what you’re saying but it feels like what some of the Governors are.
Yep, the reports on this stuff look really scary. It blows my mind how eager people are to throw caution to the wind and open back up to mass exposure. I can understand people wanting to get some kind of livelihood back, but the people getting up in arms over it simply because they feel like it’s a sleight to their freedom blows my mind. “You’re forcing me to be safe in a pandemic? Tyranny!!”And those that aren't are potentially having permanent lung and heart damage.
Me, too.I loath fox news so much!
This. It seriously makes my blood boil that the most vocal people about how much worse it is hurt the economy than losing lives, appear to the ones fretting over making a few million less than the several million+ they’re accustomed to making. And honestly if they were just complaining for themselves, boo hoo but fine. What’s worse is their being underhanded and jedi-mind tricking their followers into taking up their crusade for them. The only lives that matter to rich Republicans are rich Republicans.

At this point it’s bordering on surpassing criminal negligence and into a plot against America.
The evangelicals and the GOP are trying to murder us.
Hospitals in Japan are increasingly turning away sick people as the country struggles with surging coronavirus infections and its emergency medical system collapses.
In one recent case, an ambulance carrying a man with a fever and difficulty breathing was rejected by 80 hospitals and forced to search for hours for a hospital in downtown Tokyo that would treat him. Another feverish man finally reached a hospital after paramedics unsuccessfully contacted 40 clinics.
The Japanese Association for Acute Medicine and the Japanese Society for Emergency Medicine say many hospital emergency rooms are refusing to treat people including those suffering strokes, heart attacks and external injuries.
Japan initially seemed to have controlled the outbreak by going after clusters of infections in specific places, usually enclosed spaces such as clubs, gyms and meeting venues. But the spread of virus outpaced this approach and most new cases are untraceable.
I was going to say that Trump's followers fighting this quarantine was bordering on mass suicide which got me thinking that Trump and his followers have always behaved like a cult which makes all this a bit too similar to Jonestown. Instead of telling them to "Drink the koolaid to ascend." he is telling them "Go out and work and play to save the economy." And it's going to result in a lot more death than Jonestown.
Sounds like you're doing the best for you and yours.Yep, the reports on this stuff look really scary. I plan to hardcore quarantine myself and my family as long as humanly possible, even if it causes me to take on financial hardship. Hopefully my job continues to let me work from home until I feel it’s entirely safe though. Even if I didn’t have some immune issues putting me at risk (I do) I’d still be worried over the long term effects.
Not to mention the real possibility that this could be something that just stays with you to reactivate over time (fingers crossed that’s not what those reactivation cases are indicating), I don’t like the odds of having to survive multiple reactivations as you get older and less healthy every time. Even if my 4 year old might be less susceptible due to his age, the idea that he might have lifelong lung issues if he gets it is enough to make me quarantine until there’s a solid vaccine.
