If a hero has a horrible costume but a really great story or powers can you see past the asthetic nightmare and still read the comic?
This is also a haven for you to post pics and rage about your least favorite hero/villan costumes.

I don't know.
Probably not. There are some characters who's designs I don't like or care for and it happens that I don't pay attantion to them.
But other characters I do, and sometimes their costumes are gawdy or whatever.
I am thinking of Wonder Man. His originally costume is seen as awful right? But I think he is cool, but I also think his original costume is cool. But I still don't know if I can look past their design.

Maybe if their design was bad but their story was cool, their design might become cool by assosiation. It sort of becomes part of their character.

I'm also thinking of Daredevil's original suit, and Captain America's original suit, and the original Green Lantern.
Their first costumes weren't the best, I even heard a comic artist call the 1st GL's costume terrible. But I like it, its part of his character sort of.

I don't find Mark Grayson's costume to be all that appealing, but Invincible still kicks butt.

i'm not nuts about jay garreks hat and sweat pants, but he is a part of DC history, so what can you do. he is DC royalty and people love him. I still read comics with him in them and enjoy them.

The Hulk's purple pants kind of seem lame to me but I look past that.

i'm strictly an art man, then a writing man. ex. if bill willingham drew eugene patilio: fabulous frogman! series i'd buy it.

From my experience, I can.

I really don't like Deadpool's costume because it reminds me too much of Spider-man's (main character I focused on for the last few years or so before branching out). However, I'm starting to like him almost as much as Spider-man because of how he's written.

If this was the case NO ONE would read DC comics they have some of the worst costumes in comicdom.

costumes are very important because what makes people buy a new book is the character's costume if its good then people will be interested.
