Superman Returns Could Brandon's 'Informers' role ruin his reputation?

First let me say that I am sorry to the mods if this thread should not be here but since it has to do with Brandon Routh I thought I put it here again sorry to the mods for any inconvenience feel free to move it if you all think it does not belong here

I understand Brandon probably wants to expand his horizon and act in other movies that have nothing to do with Superman but could his role as Jamie hurt his image as Superman or do you think it could help his image as an actor to were maybe people, the general audience, and critics will accept him as a good and or versatile actor I say all this because the character of Jamie that he is going to play in the Informers is very dark deep and disturbing check out this wiki link and read everything there is to know about the character of Jamie in 'The Informers'

I don't know.......I almost feel that he should not play this role but then again that is selfish of me as a fan of him because he is after all an actor and thats what actors do act as different various characters unless of course your Hilary Duff then you act as the same characters over and overt:

I think its great that he is trying something totally different from Superman, it will give him more of a chance to prove himself as an actor (which i think he did in SR) and it might make him become more of a BO draw if the movie is successful, who knows?

But i dont see it harming is reputation in ANY way, shape or form.

Did Deathtrap and Street smart hurt Chris Reeve? They're actors, they act.He needs to go beyond playing Superman or he won't have any longevity in his career. George Reeves killed himself because he wasn't able to get any serious acting jobs after The Adventures of Superman.

The guy really needs to do these other roles regardless of his future as Superman ........ he's starting to to gain a reputation (thanks to the usual Internet gossips) as a one trick pony who had no future in film outside of Superman. A few varied and successful roles in other movies will help dispel that myth

This debate is kinda moot IMO, actors act, Routh taking other roles shouldn't be an issue, i mean the only ppl that worry me are those that can't separate the characters from the actor.

I dont believe this role would hurt Brandon at all. No. Quite the opposite actually. And if he's any good, it will prove him to be a versitile actor, and not one that should be mainly seen only as Supes in whatever Superman movie that comes out. This film inparticular, will get attention due to it's association with BEE. And even if the film doesnt perform all that spectacularly at the box office (ROA), I really dont see how it would hurt his career if his performance is a memorable one. That's what counts most at this stage.

I wouldn't trust IMDB. They aren't the best site to look up for the info., since a lot of their info. are false. But right now, it too early to say what the release date is. They haven't film it yet, so we'll have to wait & see. Once they start filming, they might announce the date of it release.

I don't trust it completely either but I thought it might have a speculative thought on it. But otherwise I think you're right.
