Counter Strike: Global Offensive

Awesome...

WHERE THE **** IS HALF-LIFE 3, THOUGH?!

I wonder if Valve will treat the PS3 version of Counter Strike the way they treated the PS3 version of Portal 2.

I've been waiting for this moment my whole life (since 1.6 :p).

Poorly as I recall. So poorly in fact I think it was broken at release. I don't own a PS3 so I might be thinking of the wrong Valve game.

You are Portal 2 was treated extremely well, they wanted it to be the best on the PS3, now the Orange Box was another story all together it was terrible on the PS3, but now they treat the PS3 ports very well.

And Counter-Strike, if its really new, and not just re-doing all the maps again I'm game. I played this game since beta 1, still pissed that around Beta 3 they cut out the Subway map, I loved it personally. And I remember all the balancing issues (probably still there) with the AWP. (Or what ever they call it now.)

But CS was a game I played for like 3-4 years straight in its early days. It would be fun to bring it back.

Oh right I remember now. I was debating on buying the Orange Box for the PC or 360 when it first came out then heard how badly they did the PS3 port and thinking it was a good thing I didn't have a PS3.

It was EA who done the port of the Orange Box for the PS3.
Valve weren't happy with the quility so they didn't do it again thus: No left4dead. It was only around Portal 2 they had an internal team who could develop properly for the platform rather than shelling out to a third party. It should also be noted that this wasn't Gabe Newells choice, they operate as a fairly open company with no over-all boss (even though he really is the boss).

Perhaps we should check with Gabe Newell...

Yup, just as I thought...

No but it got old after few new maps.

Counterstrike was released 12 years ago and it's still one of the most played shooters online. How many other online shooters have done that? None I can think of.
Also, people are almost entirely playing a pool of well known maps as opposed new ones.

Yeah, Countercrack is pretty addictive once you start.

I'm not denying its still highly played, and none have. But, it's time for some new things in it. And that was my problem, I got so freaking tired of playing Dust, and Aztec that after a while it just got tiring. I still go back and play it once in a while, but to me I had the most fun in its early years. Since then there has been different games out to play, I just want some new things. It's fun for a romp here and there anymore, but eh they need to add more things to it.

That probably isn't far from the truth...

I don't own the original Counterstrike, but I do own Counter Strike: Source. I love it! It is soooo addicting. The only problem is there are those people who play it 24/7 and are so good, it starts to become unfun to play when you die before seeing your weapon...

You don't know how to take things as an exaggeration for the sake of making a point do you?

Sorry, I tend to attempt try discuss things with clear facts. It's a fairly bad habit. Personally, I think it's probably a good idea to boost HP by 168% allowing the player to use both health regen and wall-cover. Also they should be fed XP for doing stuff no matter what it is. Even if they die they should be rewarded. This is popular with Call Of Duty which is the most popular game in the world and thus, the best game in the world. Any requirement for skill should just be removed from the game altogether so the lowest common denominator can have an equal playing field. Effort isn't fun. It's why RTS games suck, they involve thinking, no one likes that. Come to think of it, the wii has proven people aren't even interested in pressing X to win a game. We should be able to wave our arms in order to fire. Aside from being more interactive, it will also allow people to play side by side in the same room creating a more social environment. Everyone wins, particularly college hipsters and old people close to death.

Cs is only meant for pc !!! i cant wait for this!!! cs is the best all time fps and it kicks any other fps ass any day!!
