Counter Strike: Global Offensive

You say that about everything. The graphics and footage look good. I can't wait to try this on the PS3.

Looks amazing.

Might have to get a PS3 just so I can cross platform with the PC guys. I seriously can't wait for this.

Oh this is cross-platform on PS3/PC? I think us console players will be absolutely stomped, won't we?

Probably. I mean, I used to play CS 1.5 and 1.6 on PC with a mouse an kb and still got stomped by those pro players.

I'll just assume you aren't familiar with Counterstrike or mods. It barely looks sharper than Counterstrike: Source. Asthetically, I would say it doesm't. It also appears to have less features. Valve is a multi-million dollar company, this looks like something a bunch of 14 year amatures made. In fact, i'v actually seen kids do a better job. Counterstrike is by far there best selling game and one of the corner stones of competitive gaming. If you plan on updating it or doing a console version, at least put some effort in.

The graphics are fine in the video that showed. So the rest of your paragraph is really uneeded. And the graphics in that video you posted look worse than CS: GO. And they said from the beginning that the game play was going to be CS, so I don't see how complaining they didn't change it up enough is valid. This game's purpose was to get CS on the consoles, and they are just releasing it on the PC as well.

That looks like X-Box footage (press B to reload), and the X-box won't have cross play.

The game will be compatible with PS3 keyboards. Which I will get specifically for this game.

So no worries from me really.

I think this makes little diffrence. It seems pretty clear to me from looking at that they will get murdered and most likely not have a very fun time. I wouldn't, it would be frustrating as hell. Even playing with a mouse and keyboard against other people who have been playing for years it's frustrating as hell. The people with a mouse and keyboard on console will most likely be a niche group of people as it's not inherent to the nature of the platform. i.e. sitting on a couch with a tv. I think they should at the very least, give people the option of who they want to play with as oppossed to trying to hide everyone platform and use a ranking system (which never work properly).

This just seems like an out and out flat bad idea. Bordering on stupid even.

CS:GO America vs Europe gameplay on the PC

Really a great match to watch. This game is looking better each time they show more of it.

Maybe I'm missing something, but that just looks like an uglier version of Call of Duty.

First of all COD looks like CS. CS has been around since 99.

There is also no aiming down sight and no aim assist.

No TDM either the objective is to plant at the bomb site or kill the entire enemy team before said bomb is planted. So think the SnD game mode from COD.

The emphasis of the game hasn't ever been graphics but more towards the focus on precession on aiming and maneuvering yourself tactically around the map.

It's a thinking mans FPS versus CODs running with your head chopped off gameplay.

A major reason why CS has remained popular in the PC community over the years also has to do with the ton of customizable game modes and maps along with the freedom of dedicated servers.

Ah, thanks for the info.

Odd that you can't aim down the sights tho. Seems counterintuitive to a game that is supposed to be more tactical.

Aiming down sights wasn't the standard until COD came into the market. Wolfenstein 3D and a couple other games before COD had it but it didn't appeal to the FPS crowd.

It's not really counterintuitive as it's simply sticking to the original FPS formula. CS, Halo, and DOOM didn't have it and those are probably the biggest FPS franchise before COD took over the market.

Simply put CS is a way harder game than COD could ever dream of being.

I agree with him, not all the nonesense about being like Call Of Duty but it does look pretty bad to me. Portal and Team Fortress 2 has amazing presentations. They could have done alot more with the presentation than stick so close to the much over-used realistic militery look.

yeah cod is by the hardest game you will play it takes skill and in my books is my favorite fps

what's new about this cs?

the graphics still look bad...they look about the same as some of the skins i used to use back in the day when i was addicted to cs.

i like cod now cause it's so much easier to pick and play and still dominate; with cs i remember if i didn't play for a while i would get killed. it's a much less forgiving game. actual recoil and having to aim strategically for head shots...
