interesting!

Because in the comic, even the aliens were...stupid looking. Im glad they changed the tone.

WOW...

The premise and the cast intrigued me but I was kind of hesitant, now after this trailer I am super pumped. Might be my most anticipated film for next year...

After seeing the poster and now the trailer, I really believe that the role will be better with Craig than it would have been with Downey.

As much as I like Downey, I think Daniel needs more mainstream love.

In fact, I think he's been doing better career-wise during his Bond days then poor Pierce.

Plus Craig pulls off that old school Western stance/posture/walk...

Downey Jr. dropped out due to scheduling conflicts with another movie. ...never thought that sentence would ever be said a decade ago.

Craig's a better fit for this movie anyways.

He reminds me of Yul Brynner from 'The Magnificent Seven'.

When Downey was going Alley McBeal? haha.

Or doing Scarface amounts of cocaine while driving down downtown LA in a dress...

I love Downey but he had really hit bottom. Good thing, he found his way back.

Yes...

:woot:

It was actually his "dark period." He's super talented....it would have been a major shame to have lost him. Hollywood and the movie watching public is happy that he'll be around for a very long time.

He still looks good for his age, but I would have thought he could look 'Brad Pitt/Johnny Depp' good if he cleaned up earlier.

I was expecting more of an action-comedy feel. I like the more serious tone in the teaser.

Same. I originally thought this film would be very cheesy like Mars Attacks. Sort of Wild Wild West with aliens.

He pulled off the cowboy look of raising your head in a dramatic pose

The beginning REALLY looked like his James Bond had been dropped off in the desert and then he attacks the guys.

Surprised nobody mentioned the age gap between the actors? Olivia Wilde is 26 who’s young enough to be Craig’s *daughter* and Ford’s *grand daughter*. Ewwwww Grosssss...they could've hired an older woman around the same age as Craig (42). Same thing with Jonah Hex which had Brolin (42) and Fox (24), but that movie sucked anyways.

You may have an argument with Craig but what has Ford got to do with it? She's not Ford's love interest, is she?

And historically, it's not a far cry at all. In the late 19th century many men married teenage girls.

2011 is stacked with films.

Yeah the summer in 2011 looks to be a lot stacked

Thor
Hangover 2
Priest
Pirates 4
X-Men 1st Class
Super 8
Green Lantern
Rise of the Apes
Cars 2
Transformers 3
Harry Potter part 2 of the Deathly Hollows
Captain America
and Cowboys and Aliens

I'm sure I'm missing something.

Fast Five.

Hmm seems a bit early for X-Men 1st Class but they shot themselves in the foot by rushing it.

Regarding male and female lead roles, the women usually co-star with older men.

Really? I grew up in the 90's, but I don’t recall men marrying teenage girls being legalized. Do you mean the late 19th century?

And then there's The Wolverine in 2012...wish Fox would just stop sending X-Men films out like rapid fire even though Wolverine has potential.

I'm surprised at the tone for this film, really am. Has the amazing feel of a Western with some sci fi thrown in the mix. And the talent for the project is GOLDEN!

Wasn't fond of this film too much but I love Favreau. This teaser has me stoked. Summer of 2011 is STACKED! This could be the best year for big films since 2008!

I think 2012 will be better

May 4 - The Avengers
May 18 - Madagascar 3
May 25 - Battleship and Men in Black 3D.

June 15 - Brave
June 29 - Star Trek 12

July 3 - Spider-Man Reboot
July 13 - Ice Age 4
July 20 - Batman 3

Stacking 2011 and 2012 in preparation for the End of the World. It's either a smart move or a dumb move on the part of the studios. I would guess its more likely the latter.
