Yeh, this is totally getting my money.

Ford looks perfect in the role of an old guy in a western and Craig is just total badass anyhow. There should be more things like this. I've been saying for years that setting ANYTHING in a western setting makes it 1200% more awesome and this proves it.

Now I await my western zombie film... Staring Micheal Keaton...

with the success of Red Dead Undead Rising, i wouldn't be surprised

and Michael Keaton needs more live action roles dammit!

I saw the trailer attached to DH pt.1 and I really liked what I saw. The rest of the audience laughed and called it stupid because of the title:whatever:

Yes, my prediction, which I hope is wrong, is that this will be the sort of movie that is beloved by geeks like us, but overlooked by the mainstream audience because they can't get past the title and the concept.

I'm tremendously excited for it, like a lot of people here, but I think the whole thing might be "too much" for Joe Public.

I must admit, the title was throwing me a bit. After seeing the trailer, I'm totally on board, though. Hopefully, people will look past the title once the publicity machine gets rolling. The name recognition of the people attached to the movie won't hurt either.

People in my theater clapped really hard during the trailer but they did laughed at the title

Well, the title is funny. It's kind of a ballsy move to sell something that sounds so silly as a serious film, but I think they managed to do that with this trailer.

I think they're supposed to laugh at the title. Like Snakes On A Plane, the title was probably what got this greenlit in the 1st place.

Two things:

How did the audience react up until the title comes up?

Also

You saw it on opening day for an HP movie? I'd say most of the ppl there weren't GA/Joe Sixpack types then...they were HP fans. Not sure how that would effect they're perceptions as opposed to regular joes who just want to be entertained, but it may have had some effect.

Harry Potter fans laughing at another movie?

lol, oh the irony

My friend thought it sounded like a Pixar film before seeing the trailer.

the title - 'does exactly what it says on the tin'

seriously, what else were they going to call it?

'MEN IN CHAPS'

'fist full of lazers'

'the alien with no name'

'a few aliens more'

'the good, the bad and the alien'

Because Deathly Hallows Part 1 obviously isn't a stupid title...

How can anyone not love the title? It's just there. It does it's job of making you aware it's about cowboys and aliens. The title "Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer" does the same thing. Informs you it's a Fantastic Four movie and that some new fellow called the Silver Surfer wil rise. Deathly Hallows Part 1 only telly you that some Hallows are Deathly and there's a Part 2 coming...

I think anyone who laughs at the title should be shot.

I would watch a movie with this title. Sounds super epic!!!! :awesome:

everyone at my showing laughed at the end of the trailer when cowboys and aliens showed up.

Same here, Thinkton. I even heard some people saying "That's stupid!" and such. I hope people will still see it and not just skip it because they don't like the title.

I think because most people nowadays are cynical, mostly the young'uns, and don't get that it's a play on the classic cowboys and indians type moniker.

The title is silly because it's a play on "Cowboys and Indians."

I like it but can totally see why people would laugh at it. It's b-movie cheesy. What if TDK was titled "Masked Man and Clown."

The title itself does pretty much pave the way for a massive amount of merchandising towards kids though. It will have a PG-13 rating, and you can see all the fast food tie-ins, video game adaptations, and action figures.

LOL, brilliant. Too bad that Cowboys & Aliens doesn't have its own forum... we could start an entire thread devoted to alternate titles for this film.

3:10 to Uranus

Hell Bent for Lasers

1863: A Space Odyssey

How the West Stood Still

Cowboys & Illegal Aliens (endorsed by John McCain)
