Bill Gates has lost his freaking mind and starts behaving like a cross between Hugh Hefner, Richard Branson and Caligula. On days that he's bored he takes a camera crew and goes out to the public and offers money for challenges for his amusement. This particular challenge is:

THE DAY OF JUBILEE!!!!

Bill Gates is the richest American billionaire and second-most wealthy in the world, with a net worth of $81 billion dollars.

The United States has a population of 316-plus million people. About two-thirds of that total are adults, age 18 and older. That would be about 212 million adults. If we separate the American millionaires from that total, it would leave 206 million American adults who are not millionaires.

Lets pretend Bill Gates was to magnanimously give all 206 million adult American non-millionaires $1 million dollars each. As a percentage of his one years income, that would amount to 3.4 percent. As a percentage of his total wealth, that would represent only 0.3 percent.

WHAT EFFECT WOULD THAT HAVE ON AMERICAN SOCIETY?? WHAT DO YOU THINK WOULD HAPPEN??

They'd all lose their million within a calendar year. They did a study in the U.K. of all the lottery winners over something like 15-20 years and over 90% were poorer after they won than before after a given number of years.

To elaborate, I think the majority of people would act like idiots and it would devolve into a 'money = privilege' train of thought. Eventually people would use the money to buy more weapons to assert that 'privilege' over others and things would escalate.

Think Black Friday but if everyone could afford a Hummer and bodyguards.
