Any of ya'll buy Criterions?

Videodrome
8 1/2
Fantastic Mr. Fox
Kiss Me Deadly
Mulholland Drive
Badlands
Black Narcissus ( Not a pun :oldrazz:)
The Red Shoes
Rosemary's Baby
Seven Samurai
3:10 To Yuma
Red River

One of the cool things is to see actors and directors actually choosing Criterions.

Guillermo del Toro:

Edgar Wright:

They're overpriced with great cover art. That's how I've always known them.

Lady Snowblood collection is legit.

I have a couple but I really want The Criterion version of The Game since I love the cover and have most every Fincher film

That's one of my favorite films of all time. The Criterion release is fantastic.

My Criterion list is pretty extensive at this point. I should compile it.

But some favorites are:

Seven Samurai
Seventh Seal
Mr. Arkadin
Le Samourai
Army of Shadows
A Man Escaped

Godzilla/Gojira
The Man that Fell to Earth, which came with the book on which it was based. I got it at a yard sale for 5 bucks!
The Devils Backbone
Cronos
Videodrome
Paths of Glory
The Killing
Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas
Moonrise Kingdom

I really appreciate how many movies they make available through Hulu.

I am very excited for the Inside Llewyn Davis set.

I own some of Criterion's blu-rays.

Seven Samurai
The Life Aquatic
Hidden Fortress
The Royal Tenenbaums
The Sword of Doom
Y tu Mama También
The Samurai Trilogy
Rushmore
Hara Kiri
Anatomy of a Murder
The Last Temptation of Christ
Kiss me Deadly
Diabolique
Odd Man Out

Barnes and Noble does two 50% off sales every year and Criterion does numerous sales on their site. And a lot of Criterions on Amazon are around $27.

Considering that Criterion's preservation, restorations, and transfers are some of the best in the business their price is more than reasonable. Not that criterion without flaws, but those flaws are few and far between.

I only own Fear & Loathing in Las Vegas in criterion.

The plastic slipcase is cool. It slides back the hallucinations.

I only have Nolan's Following from Criterion, but I'd love to build up some Kurosawa movies and whatnot.

I really want 12 Angry Men, Modern Times, M and in light of David Bowie's death, The Man who Fell To Earth as well previously mentioning The Game.

Trilogy Of Life intrigues me because I love The Canterbury Tales but I've never seen any of it. Has anyone here? It seems more like an art exhibit than a movie but I have no idea

A Brighter Summer Day is coming in March, finally. Definitely have to get that.

Um, they have an official 50% sale twice a year on their site, as well as Barnes & Noble doing the same.

And they specialize in preserving films and giving them a great presentation and extras. They're definitely worth seeking out.

The Red Shoes
Children of Paradise
The Curious Case of Benjamin Button
Richard III
The Hidden Fortress
House
Following
Empire of Passion
In the Realm of the Senses
The Thief of Bagdad

I highly recommend Children and House for completely different reasons. The former is dubbed the French Gone With the Wind, but I like it more and its backstory is fascinating. House is beautifully-shot, but it's bizarre and crazy... a true cult classic.
