Criterion Collection Thread

I bought Eraserhead during the flash sale earlier this year. Awesome movie

I need Mullholland Dr still. Amongst many others, lol

Latest movie on the Criterion channel.

It's Pride month in the year 2019 and there's still no Birdcage Criterion disc?

Homophobia. :o

Got some choice picks now.

God, I know I will be unable to wait for the sale for the Godzilla collection.

I probably have around 100 releases, and have watched maybe a 10th of them because I have problems. But a good chunk of them have also been used purchases or given to me by a friend (only way I was getting that Zatoichi set) so I don't feel as bad.

I need to finally get Eraserhead, but every sale the last 3 years all the local stores have had no stock and I rarely order online. That tends to run out, too. Dunno what to get on top of that right now. Maybe I'll go to a B&N next weekend and browse.

Some of my prized pieces was finding Robocop, Armageddon and the Rock used over the years. Sadly, mostly you only find Chasing Amy and The Royal Tanenbaums in thrift stores these days.

Did not expect to see him get a Criterion release.

Police Story 1 & 2. So getting this.

If I didn't already have the Eureka! release I would pick this up.

Blue Velvet

Yes GAAAAAAAAWD.

I was pissed at this because a week before it was announced I bought Blue Velvet on BD. But it balances out as a found a new copy of Mulholland Dr. for 4 bucks new 2 months ago.

People are speculating the Godzilla collection is about to me announced.

The Target price is $150, which seems cheap to me.

That would be a great price for it. Would be willing to pick it up sale or no sale.

Speaking of sale, I have to go and check out a B&N next week.

I think the only movie I plan to get during the sale is 1984.

I'm looking to finally get Eraserhead after all this time. And Midnight Cowboy, then browse around.

Finally getting around to watching a few I own. Just watched Riot in Cell Block 11 and just started On The Waterfront.

I need to watch more movies from the 50s in general.

Eraserhead also comes with instructions from David Lynch on how to calibrate your tv to watch the movie appropriately. It's mainly turning down the brightness a little bit and turning the contrast way up. I found that most old movies I watch afterward look really great with those settings.

They had the same instructions on the Eraserhead 2000 DVD. Never tried it.

The best setting for ERASERHEAD is the picture as dark as possible and the sound on mute. Then go read a book for 2 hours.

I take it you're not a fan?
Nope. If you've seen any of my postings of the movies I watch every month....you's see that I'll watch pretty much anything at least once. ERASERHEAD comes under the "watched it once and that's enough for me" column.

Went to Barnes and Noble today and instead of getting 1984, I bought Kwaidan instead.

Where's Ferris Bueller... I need a remaster of that movie.
