Critics' Reviews: Discussion

You answered your question already.

It's not dumb because it will make them a bucket load more money. Simple.

It is a bastard from our P.O.V. But they are in the business of making money, this will make money, therefore, it is NOT dumb.
i will ask you a simple question.
are you serious?????????????

Errr yea. By doing this they will be tempting people to go back for repeat viewings, and there will be people going back for repeat viewings, I probably won't be one of them though.

Is that hard to understand or something?

I seriously want to know who'd pay for another ticket just to see an extra ending which probably isn't even going to be a minute long. It's probably good for people who planned on watching it again anyway, because they enjoyed it so much the first time. I doubt anyone else would watch it again just because of a different ending. I really don't see them earning much extra cash.

You underestimate the amount of obsessive fan boys.

I was exaggerating about the "bucket loads more money", shouldn't of put it that way. But it will make them more money, guaranteed.

I'd assume the "obsessive fan boys" wouldn't pay for another ticket after seeing what has been done to Wolverine and his Origin. I seriously doubt some cheap Fox Tactic is going to tempt them.

Well not everyone thinks this film is crap.

I think the people who come down harshest on the film are judging more on their dislike of FOX than the movie's own merits. They also tend to hold it to a higher standard than it probably deserves; it's a popcorn action flick, not Shakespeare. no, the characters aren't going to be deep and provocative. they will, howevewr, kick a lot of ass and make you smile.

Doesn't need to be Shakespeare. Wolverine just doesn't need to act like a boyscout and the whole Weapon X deal shouldn't feel so trivial.

I'm surprised not many people are talking about Wolverine, his portrayal in the film, Jackman's acting as Wolverine, and Wolverine's journey in the film.

Most people are complaining about the plot, special effects, too many extra characters, misrepresentation of Deadpool, etc...

But how was Wolverine?

Grumpy guy with a heart of gold. Sure, he gets wild during the action scenes, but outside of them, you get to wonder why everyone calls him an animal.

Thats pretty much who Logan is.

Well we could of done with seeing him lose his temper more. But I thought the whole point of the film was to show him NOT losing his temper until pushed by Creed and Stryker, and he definitely lost his temper with them.

Logan is a guy who gets his hands dirty, who's done more than his fair share of bad things in the past, who's always fighting with his inner animal, you get none of that in the Movie. He does never anything morally wrong or is in conflict with who or what he is. There are no grey areas to walk in. It's plain black and white. There are the bad guys, here are the good guys. And Logan is such a good boy.

wasnt part of hes character development in the first 3 movies to become more a softy? to become part of the team?

i thought the purpose of hes origin movie is to show him as a badass muther... animal.

someone said it perfectlly this week.
wolverine is written now for Hugh Jackman.

Well it looked like he was gonna rip that guy on the bridge apart until Kayla came along.

And he has got his hands dirty. He has fought through 4 wars. He started killing soldiers to defend his brother, even though his brother was about to do something despicable. That will make people question him, defending his [BLACKOUT]rapist[/BLACKOUT] of a brother.

would he really?

he would kick hes ass. but would he really rip him apart?

I'd watch the spoilers, or was that already in one of the many released TV spots, I don't keep track of them. Anyway, you know how the scene plays out in the Movie, so I doubt people are going to question Wolverine.

Why wouldn't they? He and his brother end up killing people, that's pretty obvious. Wolverine kills people to defend his brother, even though his brother does something terrible. If that doesn't make people question Wolverine, then I don't know what will, apart from him running around chopping civilians up.

You should really watch that scene again.

How about showing some of the shady government work that he did? That'd be a start.

We only see ONE mission. And Logan just watches.

Why should I watch that scene again? Just as it cuts off it's apparent they are about to slaughter those soldiers, that was even seen in the comic con trailer.

What you mean some more team x missions or something? Yea of course I would of wanted to see that. But we didn't, it doesn't ruin the movie for me.

And anyway, it's pretty clear that Wolverine is sick of being in team x by that point. There is something he says to Creed as he storms off that shows that they have done some bad things. Use your imagination.

Oh, that's great. I want to see bad Wolverine, not just imagine it. What the heck do I go to Movies for? Might just quit going to theaters and just imagine all the good stuff. :whatever:

Well you don't need to be beaten around the head with it do ya?

It is evident that he has done some bad stuff, it doesn't HAVE to be shown. I would of preferred it to be shown of course. But ever since Wolverine became the leading man of both a Saturday morning cartoon and a movie franchise they ain't gonna show him going round ripping people apart, especially in a pg-13 film.

And as I said, the end of the opening montage alludes that he is a killer, a unjust killer.

I'd like to see the moral change from a guy who does the dirty work and goes after the people who used him. Not just have everyone call him an animal and you wonder the entire Movie why? And I've been waiting for a while to see a real badass Wolverine, to see some of his dark past before he joined the X-Men. I don't just want them to allude that he's done some wrong things. Freaking show me.

And they don't have to. Even in a PG-13 movie they can show him doing morally wrong things. You don't need gore to show how much of a bastard he is.

And as I said, the end of the opening montage alludes that he is a killer, a unjust killer.

It does no such thing, especially if you zoom onto his worried face, everytime his brother actually does something wrong. It just shows him what every other Soldier does, fight for his country. Even though he's canadien... but whatever.
